I have tried to create a custom JoliCraft texture and when I am done picking textures, I clicked download pack and all I got is a .zip named MCCustomizer.zip and the content of that zip is a folder named http: with nothing in it, and 3 txt files named pack, notes, and credit, that all I saw, I did not get any texture based images.
I am using Windows 7 with Chrome as the browser, and when I clicked download, my download manager downloaded the file.
And the drag textures do not work, when I try all that it does is highlight the whole page, and doesnt move the textures.
EDIT: It worked with Internet Explorer, here is my 2 cents, you should not use browser dependent coding, it should be accessible to all browsers if you want this thing to really take off.

Haha I guarantee you IE will have more problems than any other browser. I advise everybody to stay away from it in general. Both Kaiassc and I use Chrome on a PC and Mac respectively so it is browser we recommend.
We are NOT using browser-specific coding....we aren't goofballs.
You have to be logged in to be able to drag textures because there is nothing you can do with a texture as an unregistered user. It needs to save those Favorites somewhere -> in your user record in the database.
Regarding that weird downloading issue with the weird files...that was my fault. I was editing some stuff to add support for the unique customization URLs and was getting some unexpected results for a short time, plus I'm pretty low on sleep....I imagine you tried it out on IE shortly after I fixed it. Try it again and let me know.
If anybody is having browser problems, we recommend to upgrade to the latest browser version (or at least a somewhat modern one) and if you are using IE and are having issues, try out a different browser. This is the first I have heard of browser issues and I don't expect to see much more.
is it possible to make a texture pack public so anyone can add alternative textures?
that whould be nice for all outdated texture packs, where almost all new blocks are made by the community so you have a shipload of alts flying around.
edit: and maybe you should add page links to the bottom of the site, so you dont have to scroll up again to switch the site if you watched through it
This could be a possible future feature (haha i like the sound of that). I don't think it would be too hard to implement on our end. I'm just worried how it would play out. Creepers might get in and blow it up who knows.
If enough people feel this is a necessary feature then we'll add it.
What about official remixes? Thinking of Quandary/Coterie (or even Doku/gerudoku/jadoku) specifically. Some of the textures are going to be the same, And what if either of the parties decide to use some of the other's textures?(with permission)
This is something we'll have to think about. We would have to develop quite a bit more framework to enable something like this. But when we do, I imagine it being user-user controlled where one user can request a packs textures to be used in their own customizer and instead of uploading a whole slew of new ones, the texture would simply be linked from the other user's pack.
Each URL is found in the notes.txt file which is included in EVERY texture pack download.
That's pretty good, but I think you could expand on it more in the future, with features like a page to preview the terrain.png, and a link to go on to customize the collection. And ads, cause you've got to pay for it all.

Of course! I was thinking the exact same things. maybe if we talk about ads really small, people won't notice...

Perhaps give an option for those with official packs where they can enter in the usernames of the people who are allowed to use their textures?

Actually, people who aren't logged in need to be able to drag art/wool/anything else that has a combination picker.
Just got an idea: favorited packs are subscribed to, and their new and updated textures appear on the front page in a facebook newsfeed style.
I like this idea :smile.gif:
Also another Suggestion:
Some way for pack creators to let people choose a certain theme of their pack (which would by default have several different textures than the other ones) before they customize it. Such as having a pack that has seasonal variations(ala quandary), i could choose the Autumn theme, then customize from their.
That is something that i would be able to use on my pack, and i think others would find it very nice also(infact, i think this was one of doku's concerns, and i think this would clear that up)
One last thing:
note this statement by Kaiassc:

if this were implemented, how would this effect an offical remix pack that was uploaded first? Such as Coterie craft being uploaded first(as opposed to quandary)? would quandary need permission to use some of it's own textures(considering Coterie obviously had permission to use them)? Or do you have some grand master plan for this? :smile.gif:
Though I must ask, how does one change the order (and default selected) textures?
I'm very OCD about these kinds of things.
Similar to that question, how does one remove previously uploaded textures?
Well i found out fairly quickly that i could manually rearrange which texture was selected by default by dragging them (like when deleting textures) into the order i want them. Works beautifully!

Thank you! Between you and Kabonos I fixed those two problems.
Default textures I believe is a feature that hasn't yet been implemented. I'm eagerly waiting on that as well.
To remove textures, you drag them to the lava bucket, which appears in the lower right when you drag them.
Yes just drag them into the order you want. (all or most of this is explained in the Getting Started page, as is much of the questions posted on here).
As far as default selected textures, just put them in the first slot in each picker. The first slot is always the default selected texture in each picker. We will be adding the ability to categorize your textures into different themes (such as the three Dokucraft versions) sometime soon.
Im having that problem of the download only containing 3 txt files on my texture pack :/ i tried a different browser, checked if i was up to date and it didnt work.
I even downloaded someone elses pack and it worked fine, tried mine again and it still did not work.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

That would be lovely.
