Okay, so I've always been the one for armour that isn't split into helmet, chestplate, leggings and boots, for several reasons. Lately, I've been working on some armour sets that are rather split into helmet, gorget, bodypiece and tassets/boots, aiming to achieve a less blocky, and also more medieval feel. And I want to know what you think!
Take a look:

Wow, that is a truly brilliant idea... it gives so many more possibilities for cool-looking and reallistic armor, especially if the were fairly combinable, as you have done. You could really go for aesthetics instaed of just stats by mixing and matching. It does help that your skin fits very well, though; it might not look as good with a different skin.
I think you should take some pics with a brighter background and a naked skin (or similar) just so we can see what you're actually doing with the armour. It all looks nice but as eleazzaar said, it's quite hard to tell what's armour and what's not.
I do like the mixing and matching of chain and iron though, that's one thing I did in my pack as well. It's just a pity that chain stuff is so hard to find in survival because I really enjoy using a chainmail tunic with everything else as iron!

They're well-textured too.
