Why'd you remove the bases of the swords (You know, the little round gem that was colored like the blade)? Those looked so nice and much more faithful.

Please, be original and actually make your own textures instead of running the default through a filter.
It's quite obvious by the horrible tiling of pretty much all your block textures.
I have no idea what you mean by terrible. I think it looks just fine. However, it may be advisable to stop work on this part of the project all together and switch to the new format. From what I have seen, you should be able to do that in your sleep. Plus, you can add animations to any and all of the blocks and items. That may be the way you make yours different.
