I'm trying to create my own texture pack. I have the files and I noticed something. The ruby and quiver are in the item files. Why are they there? I thought they weren't implemented in the game.

Mojang just never took them out of the game's resources. They're not used for anything.
This reminds me, some people used the quiver as replacement for a stack of arrows, and i think it was before CIT was implemented? Could that be, and if yes, how did they do it?
Only with CIT I'm afraid, it's not yet possible without mods. Although with the new stuff mojang is letting us do like unique log tops for each type and unique birch leaves, maybe it will be implemented in the future? Who knows...
i think the quiver was maybe in the game a long time ago... i just saw a youtube video claiming that quivers were in the game in the older versions.. idk if its true or not...
rubies got replaced by emeralds. thats i can only say for it.

Curse PremiumBut if images get released with the game, various mods will make use of them, weather or not vanilla does.
If they take them away they will break stuff, so why bother?
