Very well made. Already got more rep than my texture pack did. :c
I do quite like the color theory, in particular. I've never really been good at that part.
Honestly simple packs are very dissapointing. I mean, I made something better with only black and white.

Okay, I might have went a bit off-topic, but I spoilered it!
For me it's the dithering patterns that's always got me perplexed. From checkerboard to stylized and all of these alternating methods of making pixel art useful has left me well, not using it.
The color theory section also provides a nice overview. That remained my main problem for quite some time. "How does one pick colors that provide that "just enough" amount of contrast, but don't give off a strict outline?"
I've been waiting too long for this! OH SO LOOOONG!
Its a great tutorial, although a bit basic fer me I knew alot of what was here, but toward the beginning, the "display new window for untitled-1" part is probably the greatest thing I've learned in a while. I really appreciate it Levaunt; thats something I've wanted for ages!
+1
I think the thing I need to learn the most is learning how to add details. I notice alot of my artwork all around often doesn't have much detail, so when I try to draw big landscapes they never turn out to well because everything seems so scattered and very limited detail. But hey, I'm workin' on it
For those wanting more, I had some advanced stuff in this tut, but the image was getting to 10,000 pixels long, so I cut stuff out. I might make another one sometime with advanced techniques and such.
Yes, Levaunt thank you so much this is amazing. I love your style and have observed your work to learn from before, but having you talk about it is so much better.
EDIT: I would love more of these. Also, here is a comparison of two brick textures, one I made a few weeks ago and the one I made after reading this.
I like the colors on the new one better, but I like the contrast on the older one better.

Thank you for this! You are the creator of my favorite texture pack and I've been trying to observe your work to help me with the horror pack that I've been working on. Unfortunately I'm too tired right now to put any of this knowledge to use so I will bookmark it and try in the morning. Thanks again!
I'm in the process of making a 32x horror pack and I seem to be having trouble with color theory and hue shifting and google is not helping as much as I'd like. Anyone have any suggestions or links that could possibly help me out please? =)
I guess my main questions for hue shifting was exactly how much should it be shifted going to highlights or shadows, just slightly or a lot. I've been experimenting while making my horror themed texture pack though and I'm kinda getting the hang of it, I think.

Nice!
If it's going to use any of these pixel artsy techniques, and looks somethink like this, im going to love it!

I will now take this out of context.

That with a little other colors would be the best mycelium i would have ever seen!
