Marzipan - A confection made of ground almonds or almond paste, egg whites, and sugar, often molded into decorative shapes. (The Free Dictionary)
This is still very much an early Work In Progress. I'm mainly making this thread so I can get constructive feedback. This is my first solo texture pack, but some of you may know me from the various mod texture support packs I've created for LithiumSound's SummerFields.
This pack contains placeholders from the very cheerful PonyCraft. I make absolutely no claim to those textures, I'm merely using them because the color scheme better matches Marzipan than the default. This pack will never be distributed with those textures, but they may show up in my screen captures.
What I'm looking for right now is some constructive criticism and/or comments about the pack. I'm mainly creating it to please myself, but I will take advice into consideration. There is no download yet because, frankly, I don't feel like I have enough finished to publish it.
WOOL! Very subtle wool and highly SummerFields influenced clay. What can I say? I loved the idea that the clay would blend into the sand that it spawns in. Looks more natural and makes more sense to have clay balls come from it.
Clay in the sand, the bookcase with books and knicknacks and Obsidian. Anyone else think the obsidian is too dark? I really feel like it is when compared to the rest of the pack. By the way, I use no black in these textures. It's always brown. That's a small piece of color theory for you all.
Happy pumpkin is happy to see you. (I think it needs some more blending.)

Anyways, the pack is very pretty, great job. Though you need to read the rules. You have broken some of them.
Eep. Don't die!
Which rules? I'm looking at the stickies and such and I can't figure out where the rules are. o.O
Ah, I just found them hidden in Texture Pack Central. Very sorry. Do you know how I can go about getting this moved to the right section? I didn't realize that it should have been in Texture Discussion until 60% of the terrain was done. I don't like breaking rules.
(Well, it's either that or I make another 102 textures in record time. o.O It's entirely possible, but I don't think anyone would be happy with the results!)
A little joke image here and an update of the main post showing what else I've got done so far.
I got thinking...Hell would really be...well, Hell, if everything was sickly pink and covered in hearts. XD So I dashed together some textures for the Nether and grabbed this as a joke.
The only great thing is that when you set fire to the Netherrack it's -heartburn-. Oh man, that's a horrible joke.
NO, these are not seriously going to be the Nether textures. I just needed to get the thought out of my brain.
I know they're not permanent textures, but a pink Nether is pretty cool.
LOL, well, maybe I'll clean them up and offer them as alts for people with the same sense of humor as myself. I don't think that a lot of people would enjoy having their spooky/scary/fire-y nether suddenly become candy pink. That gives me an idea...what about a candy nether? Cotton Candy pink, glowing marshmallow glowstone, taffy soul sand. *laughs* Oh, yes. That's going to be an alt set for -sure-.

I don't like to confine the Nether into some kind of forsaken pit of fire. Whatever your imagination makes of it should define what it is.
Made some slight changes to the textures. Blurred the gravel a little to make it seem not such a lot of noise. Also changed obsidian to purple and it blends better into the rest. Blended the pumpkin, too.
This brings my count of terrain textures up to 72. That leaves about 129 left to go. Slowly getting there. o.O
I'm probably going to end up changing the wools because they're too vague for my liking. I wanted them to have a cloth-like texture, but it didn't show up how I wanted it to.
I might also see if I can tone the sand 'stripes' down a bit. They feel off.
If I don't stop editing what I already have, I'll never get done. o.O LOL

Well, you should do a few more textures, and shortly thereafter, you should fix the sand. The clay lumps could use some light shading in the center and dark shading around the edges so it has depth, then you should imbed them into the sand.
Overall, it looks good though.

Very nice pack by the way.
Well, the only thing that seems off to me is your wools
are pillow shaded, but I guess it fits the theme.
Everything else looks good :3
