HOLY GUACAMOLE! This thread got a lot more popularity than I expected! Thank you so much for the support everyone! - Welcome to my texturing tutorials thread! Here you will find a handful of resourceful tips to get you going on the trip to.. texturing! If you have any suggestions, please let me know, because I want to help as many people as I can! I don't have many tutorials out but I will update this post at least every other day!! I must also mention that I am using Photoshop CS3. If you can't afford it, try GIMP, Paint or the free 30 day trial of Photoshop CS5. Happy reading!
New! On another note, please accept my apologies for not updating this as often as i said. The school year has just started for me, and i have been busy lately. But now that this topic has become popular (★), you expect more, it's a promise :wink.gif: Lessons Basic Knowledge (Editing for Dummies)

A few months back, I was told that noise was your worst enemy whenever doing small objects such as Minecraft textures, as it doesn't actually teach you how to texture properly, you are just using random (as the name insists) noise to make things look less flat.
I dunno, this tutorial is great anyway. ^o^
Also: you should add a "somewhat" option to the first poll question.

You are right, but i meant for it be a tool that should be used properly, but it can be horrible in certain situations, thus the reason I said to not over-use it.

These are already in 16x. I don't have much experience with 32x but I guess I could experiment with it =)
I know they are in 16x. I'm just saying if you do 32x you should still do 16x
Who cares what OS, as long as the textures are good.
Let's not start an OS war, I want this thread to last ._.
Why are you asking for a banner in a Texture pack creating guide? S:
