Hi,
I try to make my own texture pack and I changed all ready a lot of pictures in the terrain.png file.
Everything is working, except of my glass block. When I hold my glass block in game, it got my own texture. But when I place it, it jumps back to the old look from minecraft. Could someone tell me why that happens??
whoot? If you can tell me what CTM is may i can fix the prob then LOL... thats my first try to do a texturepack...
Connected Textures Mod
If you're using MCPatcher, it's one of the options for things to install. If you have Optifine, you can turn it off in the options. You can also delete the default CTM files from the texture pack's .zip to solve the problem.
CTM means Connected Textures Mod, try placing several glass blocks next to each other and notice how the texture changes...
If you use optifine you can disable it here: Options - Video Settings - Quality - Connected Textures.
If you use MCPatcher, just uncheck Connected Textures and patch again.
First turn CTM off and make a nice glass texture. Then if you want to support CTM, you need to grab a default CTM file, edit it and put it in your pack.
You can find a default CTM file from the MCPatcher Thread. See Information for Texture Pack Authors - Connected Textures.
The CTM file contains lots of glass textures. Every texture is a little bit different, missing borders on various sides.
The Connected Textures Mod decides which of these textures to use depending on how many glass blocks are around the current block.
Make similar changes to your glass texture and put it in the CTM file. Then put the file in your pack next to terrain.png
If you turn on CTM now, glass blocks should not look like the default ones anymore and connect to each other.
Tanks a lot to you both... now i know whats happen here... thx...
Or, the glass block is somehow an animation, in which case you have to delete any stray files in your .zip (they should be something like anim_whatever.something)

Hope that helps you.
