Lol i have photoshop and i see what you did. You created one texture, then ran it threw a dullifyer filter, and afterwards for cobble and such you ran it through a pallet filter.

Close, but no cigar! :smile.gif:
I don't use photoshop, and on gimp I don't think I've ever heard of those filters. Perhaps it would have sped up the process though?

Neither of those filters are available with my version of photoshop. Also, I assume that you are talking about the cobble, stone and stone brick textures. If not it would we wise to state otherwise.
I'm fairly certain that if a dullifyer filter does exists for photoshop, it was designed by a third party. No respectable business would use a term like that.
If this is meant to be a criticism, or mockery, I would reword it because I have seen your work.

Here are some textures that I have been working on. Please not that they are taken at 128x which will be the lowest resolution that this pack will be available in.
Redstone ore
Obsidian:
I have recolored the wood slightly.
Snow:
On another note some of you may be surprised to see this thread in the discussion forum. We decided it would be best to have this thread here until we have a download link available.
However, if you all want to speed us along and get the download link up you can always give the OP rep points :smile.gif:
I am really tempted to help out with this pack.
But I have a tiny problem :/
I've been working on my own Wasteland texture pack and it is 256x
Most of the terrain.png has been changed and I like it the way it is :/
I won't release it just yet though. I just have to adjust the items.png and I'm pretty much set.

Well, just from that screenshot I can tell that the two packs are very different. Does yours take the same inspiration?

They look completely different.... yours seems more like a horror pack then wastelands. Looks good though

Not the exact same inspiration.
Before Minecraft I made many mods for Oblivion, Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas.
I even put the game of Minecraft into Fallout 3 and New Vegas called Falloutcraft :tongue.gif: Very fun mod to make.
This pack is inspired by the post apocalyptic wasteland of Fallout 3; Washington DC Wasteland and also designed to be used with the Wasteland Mod for Minecraft

I didn't think so. What you have so far is excellent though. I see absolutely nothing wrong with you producing that pack along with us producing ours.
As for working with us.. I would have to discuss with drfrozen.
This is awesome, I love the dark tower series and you have pulled it off magnificently
Thank you!
One of the risks that is always run when you attempt to bring a piece or writing to life though a visual medium is that everyone has their own imagination and sometimes they don't coincide. Thankfully Stephen King is an amazing writer. His environment descriptions are
vivid to say the least.
I appreciate the comment a lot. :smile.gif:

Just wanted to let everyone one know that I will still be following this thread and working on this pack despite what my sig says. At least until we have it ready for a download. Then I may just follow the PMC post.

the man in the back said, "everyone attack" and it turned into the ballroom blitz
But I will have to give those a look, after I finish the game of thrones series
:biggrin.gif:
Awesome, I am reading the series for the fourth time. :smile.gif:
That's what I was thinking. :smile.gif:
Especially since Oy was part of the group and everything.
Maybe bring down the contrast a tad.
I'll see what I can do

Yeah, drfrozen is working on that. Basically we just need to adjust to contrast. The actual pattern tiles seamlessly; but the highlight is....bad.
Sadly this will take away from the glassy look slightly.
hmm....

it's on the to-do list :smile.gif:
What I plan to do to fix it is scale it down and change the pattern so that we retain the glassy aspect, somewhat like obsidian
