I'd suggest not taking anymore until you've done the ones on the queue already. When you're done with those, post a master thread with all the reviews in order on the main post. Then start taking more to expand that. Just a thoughtful suggestion :biggrin.gif:
Wow, this is starting to pile up.....I guess I can pick off a few of these reviews, now that I have more free time on my hands. I already did one with Mirror's consent...So if people don't mind my style of reviewing I can do others as well. Which, in turn may provoke Mirror to do another in his spare time. But I'm not gonna go in order, so....that's the one caveat.
EDIT: I just looked over the queue real quick and I wanna do Rainforests & Ruins by appleslinky. Which isn't to say I'll stop there.

Oh joy thanks, I look forward to seeing your input :biggrin.gif:
This texture pack is a total overhaul of pretty much everything in Minecraft. From the terrain to the GUI, items, foliage colors, paintings and even one really creepy mob (ought to be a hint), this texture pack is going to completely immerse you in the dark, yet lush and full of life environment that is the rainforest. And it is sprinkled throughout with a fair amount of aztec/shamanic artifacts and relics, to add a bit of Indiana Jones flavor to the mix. I'm going to try to cover all of the elements of this bundle as possible, although there really are many, many bases to cover here, because of how much work the author has done.
Screens pt I:
The way the side grass drapes over the dirt, the vines, and the grass/foliage colors really bring the feeling of being in a rainforest. Absolutely reccomended for forest/jungle ruins. Turn up the fog and wait until a cloudy dawn for a spectacular visual treat.
Faces carved into the sides of blocks like pumkins, dispensers, and redstone repeaters suggests remnants of shamanic/aztec cultures lost in ancient forests....
All of the ores look very well embedded into the stone.
The fine-detail textures, such as the flowers, saplings, vines, bamboo, etc. are all drawn with excruciating attention to detail.
This pack manages to pull off its theme without, in my opinion, looking cartoony. It actually looks realistic, while at the same time not being so realistic that it makes it look like a horror-themed pack.
For those who have been following pre 1.8, all of the new textures fit well with the old ones, no conflict of styles.
Screens pt II:
The giant mushroom textures look kinda blurry...Hopefully they are just placeholders.
He manages to make the redstone components and pistons fit well with the theme, looking like pieces of ancient technology.
obsidian has a very high level of detail for the resolution. Kinda strikes me as 48x, some strange step between 32 and 64. Very good.
The monster spawner is somewhat scary, yet also fun to look at. It looks like monsters spinning in the mouth of a somewhat more frightening monster...
High detail: the tattered linens have shading that makes it look actually drapped over the mattress, and not just pasted on.
Can't really find any tiling issues to speak of. Everything seems to fit together fine.
The water color is a perfect shade of jungle-river green, tying together the theme very nicely. However, the still water animation makes it look somewhat like jiggly jello (?)
Lava is the only thing in this entire pack that looks like a frame from the default animation. Hopefully the author will create a more visually fitting lava texture soon.
Totally 1-ups the default soul sand by embedding the imprint of full detail skulls within the mystic soil.
The note block and music player is the one thing that I do not understand...rainbows? How does that fit in with the theme at all?
A minor suggestion: the crafting bench looks just a tad to modern. I think you should tear it up a bit or just make it a sacrificial table.
The rusty iron doors look sweet. If you used them right, you could create the appearance of a very deteriorated modern building overrun with moss and vines. Looks really cool.
Even if your not building a jungle paradise....The wood and glass are good enough to double as components of a colonial-styled home, strangely enough..
Using bamboo for the signs....very inventive.
The paintings that have been done are rather epic looking. Perhaps offer the kz.png in a higher resolution, if possible?
Rainforests & Ruins pretty much has all its bases covered. It's a stunning example of what a themed pack should be. A few aforementioned minor flaws, but this really is a spotlight pack. And it needs more attention than it's currently getting.
Please review what I have done so far in my texture pack. It's far from complete, but I want to know if I'm doing good so far.
It's in my signature. :smile.gif:
EDIT: Oh goody, I got the 100th post in this thread. Lucky me.
EDIT x2: Oh wait, you already posted about it in my thread. Well, can you write a more detailed review? :tongue.gif:

And we thank you for all of it (or at least I do) :laugh.gif:
Oh that reminds me of something...(goes to skype)
Yes Mirror, what's been holding you up? No rush or anything, just curious :tongue.gif:
Not done, close though! Need suggestions!
(Done all of mobs, and almost done blocks!)

That hurts man...
