This is the latest version of my InDev texture pack (Umbie's Semi-Modern Texture Pack). I haven't published this version, and this pack in general is generally so-so to say the least. But I'm up for good constructive criticism, even if there may be a lot of it. o.o
Even at first sight, you can tell that this pack is going to be great. It has a wonderfully made custom background of well-shaded wooden planks, an incredible custom logo, clever GUI, and a sleek and appealing font. The main menu was incredibly attractive, I felt that i'd make love to my monitor I should feel like a moron for not trying this pack previously.
Looking at the front of my home, you can see that the textures are VERY well done. No tiling issues, very feathery colors, no need to redo contrast anywhere. It's great! You can even see the very sleek and well-done custom GUI there, the item hotbar taking on a stony feel while the health and armor icons keep a cartoony yet well-done feel.
In this chest screenshot, you can see that lovely font and plenty of custom item textures. Althought it's nice, I must say that the stone GUI doesn't fit the chest, it's a little bothersome but it's all good.
Here you can see the crafting bench GUI, which is REALLY well done in my opinion. The plank GUI is great as it matches the tool you're using and the little crafting-bench icon for the output is an awesome idea.
Here's a screenshot of a room that was in progress, you can see that the dirt tiles wonderfully and is colored very well. You can also see the smoothstone, which looks great.
And here's a cave screenshot! You can see the wonderfully done ores, the stone next to cobblestone and the..lava..(which I'm pretty sure is an issue on my part, it happens with my pack, too.. ;_:wink.gif:
And here's a final screenshot, a lovely sunset/rise (forgot which), in which you can see the lovely grass, leaves and sun. Although I can say the tall grass could use more shading, it looks lovely overall.
Pros - Very warm, feathery textures with very little to no tiling issues.
Cons - Change the chest GUI to a more planky one and add more shading to the tall grass.
Final Rating: 9/10!
Final notes: Very, very well done pack. It was a blast to use and like I said in earlier posts, it had me about five minutes in.

Nice review, and the pictures help to visualize certain aspects of a pack that even artists don't put sometimes in their OP. Keep the goodness coming, cheers...^^
edit: Aww I'm not in the list T_T
Aw shitflakes, did I miss you? Hang on, let me update the list!
Fixed! Thanks, glad you like the review and such. :3 degraph, you're next!
Thanks, glad to be back! I've been so bored recently. ;_; I wasn't able to post, and then the damn hurricane came and knocked out my power so I couldn't even lurk on the forums! And then at least during the hurricane I was able to sit outside and listen to music in the rain, but then that went away too! ;_;

Just like FiftyNiner's pack, I could already tell that it was going to be great by even the main menu. The ornate swirly-jiggers on the buttons remind me of the glass in my upcoming pack for 42and19's contest, the cobblestone background looks great (although the tiling seems a tiny bit off in some spots) and the green/gray theme is rad.
We now see the front of my house again, looking sweet as all heck in 32x. You can see the smooth GUI for the item hotbar looks great, as do the items themselves! The gunpowder on paper is awesome, reminds me of Dungeons of Dredmor (awesome Roguelike). Anyways, the terrain textures look great. Nice neutral colors that don't need any work whatsoever. I like how the 'stones/chunks' in the grass are larger at the top and then break down towards the bottom, where they are then all grainy/soily in the dirt, very very clever.
That sword is fantastic. Just sayin'. The chests and torches are brilliant, and I like the greenish tinge to the planks. The tiling on the cobble could use a bit of work, though. Also, that glass is awesome! Yay for ornate swirly-jiggers!
Here's something I loved: Iron blocks. It makes them into metallic-looking planks, which looks awesome in my Fullmetal(HURR) room. Very nice!
What's this? ARMOR? Maka's a ninja now! Very well done!
I must say that the flowing lava and water textures were astounding. The still lava's tiling could use some work, unless that's an issue on my part and I need to be hit with a large, blunt object. The ores look great, and the gravel is pretty well done.
And there's your landscapey screenshot with those great trees and leaves.
Pros: Very nice 32x textures, probably one of the best 32x I've seen so far.
Cons: A few tiling issues here and there.
Overall Rating: 9/10! (Again!)
Final Notes: Glad I played it, keep up the hard work bro!

Much thanks for the review, very appreciated and thanks for pointing out the tiling issues. I was wondering if i was being too nitpicky about that, but it appears to be obvious to the everyday user as well. So, that gives me something to fix. and, if you dont mind, i'd like to link to your review on my packs OP in the review section

I may be new to the texture pack scene, but I think mine is pretty decent. Holds true to Minecraft's intended artstyle. ;3
May also be worth noting I'll be adding support for the Aether mod in the not-too-distant future.
Well, that means my thread hub is workin'. Goood.
Anywho, will do!
