I don't know why but I have found the "java edition" label that has been slapped under the game title a little irritating, so I spent a couple of hours making a new subtitle in paint.
It'll say that the pack is for an older version but it works fine up to the latest versions as far as I can tell.
You can easily fix that by opening the pack.mcmeta file in a good simple text editor (Notepad++ is recommended) and changing the "pack_format" to "4".
And you're definitely not the only one who finds the "Java Edition" thing obnoxious. I generally just blank that particular file out to restore a more classic look to the title, from before the whole "editions" thing. While I still prefer my own solution, this is a really great alternative! Good job!
