If You Are Using Optifine And Some Textures Look Rotated
Be Sure To Turn Alternate Textures Off In Video Settings
Dangeresque486 has brought to my attention that he no longer has the time to work on GeruDoku Faithful. He asked me to take over for him while he does other things. I've decided that the easiest way for this to work is to make a combined thread for GeruDoku Faithful and BaryDoku Remix. This thread will serve as a "hub" for the two resource packs, as well as all of the addons and such.
(Note:Horses may or may not work in 1.13 version. I haven't checked yet)
The original GeruDoku Faithful. One of the most well known and widely used resource packs, a continuation of TomBones' original GeruDoku, and inspired by Doku's RPG.
BaryDoku Remix is a off shoot flavor of GeruDoku Faithful. I have been working on textures for GeruDoku Faithful for almost two years now, and after making so many alt textures, I decided I would put those alt textures into a pack.
Maybe you could make another sheep texture where the skin is pink instead of black and make a sheep texture with horns for sheep that spawn in the mountain that would be awesome. Also some of the mouth textures are messed up on the new 1.13 cow textures.
hey all, this is tombones/gerudo rivera/gerudoku. I haven't touched Minecraft in ages, but I still occasionally check in on the modding scene, and it has meant a lot to me to see folks like Dangeresque486 and Barytyrannus carrying the torch and keeping this unique aesthetic alive and well. I appreciate all the hard work they've put in over the years (much longer than I ever worked on it) to keep up with endless changes and improve upon the project I started and abandoned long ago.
Gerudoku hasn't been "my pack" for a long time, thanks to the efforts of this incredibly generous creative community that turned it into something bigger than some random compilation, and I couldn't be happier with that outcome. Life hasn't gotten any less busy since I stopped updating the pack, and I can't see that changing anytime soon, but it's nice to know that if I ever do find the time to return to Minecraft, you all have kept the lights on for me.
That really means a lot to me, Tombones. It has been amazingly fun for me since I started getting involved in Gerudoku almost two and a half years ago. I wonder what it would have been like if I knew back then that I would soon take on this pack. It has been my favorite since I discovered it. I always liked that wonderful aesthetic you established. Its like DokuCraft, but more simple and clean.
Its great to hear from you, and I hope you eventually do find time to come back.
Thanks! I can't even take much credit for the aesthetic- Doku and Dustyshouri created most of the original textures, I just recolored and edited them a bit. The pack never would have happened if I hadn't had such a wealth of talented artistry to draw upon, and the way it has thrived under the guidance and creativity of folks here is a testament to the strength of this community. Keep up the great work!
You should give this texture a little bit of your detailing magic like you did with the zombies and make it 32x and maybe put it in the Alt mobs folder
Idk if you saw my comment about the cows being messed up around the nose area? I already tried switching off alternate blocks but it didn't make a difference.
Also, I want to put a note here: I'm not going to be updating the packs until after 1.13, and they won't be updated regularly till late May. Its AP season in my sophomore year in high-school, and I'm also reconstructing my deviantart and tumblr, as well as writing three novels at the same time. But don't worry; I wouldn't have taken up Gerudoku if I wasn't going to update it. Once AP season ends, you'll be getting weekly updates.
I actually don't know, but from my understanding, it is because it uses some faithful 32x textures.
"Faithful" means the pack is faithful to something. "Faithful 32x" and so on is called faithful because it's faithful to the vanilla textures. They look very much alike, just a higher resolution.
So for GeruDoku Faithful, I thought faithful meant that the pack is faithful to the original GeruDoku pack. Since the original was simply called GeruDoku, the continuation was called GeruDoku Faithful because the author was continuing the pack as faithful to the original as possible.
It is officially summer vacation, and I hoped 1.13 would be out by now. In any case, its time to get started on updating BaryDoku. GeruDoku will be behind a bit, though it is possible I will ultimately recombine the two. Depends though.
After I release the 1.13 changes for BaryDoku, the pack will go through a bit of an overhaul, with the desire to create a more consistent theme. I cannot guarantee that I finish it by the end of summer vacation, with typing TEC Book II being another extensive project I will be working on, but I will have it done by the end of 2018.
Here are some of the new textures I've done:
The Vex is nothing new, but I did rework the texture a bit.
We got turtles. I previewed this on Reddit a few hours ago, and I think it looks great.
A trident. Not much you can do with a trident....
The phantom boi. I originally planned to do a texture based on the B-movie "Beast of the Bering Sea" because the creature bore a strong resemblance to it, but Jappa had to go and make the default texture more detailed.
Tom Bones, Gerudo Rivera, Richasackboy, Clyde, John Smith, teknician, Jademalo, SMP, Vattic, Lil_Jening, Tyken132, Emkay443, Doku, Dustyshuori, Rapidninja42, Krayloon, Jzus, Overwhelmed, GameslayerX2, TDWP_FTW, Xthlon, Glimmar, Marineberryy, DooDooRoonys, Equivalant, DrZhark, EnderSlayer317, TC_Concept, zombieassasin417, Barytyrannus, TBP, Ikezou, Hellmage20, Gregory24

Also, something cool to add would be a sheathe for swords on the Wither skeleton texture since regular skeletons have quivers.
I actually fixed this glitch already, but forgot to update the file. I'll do that in a minute.
Great idea, but the models I use come from MickeyJoe, so he's the one you'd need to ask.

Hey guys, I have just one AP Test left, which I will take today. Once it is out of the way, I can get to work on updating these packs to 1.13
