No, I do not believe this would work. OptiFine might make this a feature in the future, so don't loose all hope. There would be a lot of options if that were added.
Hey guys! If you have a look under the youtuber showcases part of the main thread, I posted a link to my spreadsheet where I have all the prospective items in the food update. Green ones mean they're finished and added to the game. Yellow means the textures are finished. Red means I'm reconsidering or revising the item and it may not appear in the update just yet.
I've also listed out some of the coming updates too.

Also, are the weapons and tools (spatula, pizza slicer etc.) going to be a realistic size? It bugs me how the razor and knife are out of proportion but that's just me.

Would be posible to add the Minecon Elytras not the capes in a armor but the elytras when you have a cape and you wear an elytra the capes goes in the elytra i think it is posible
It is possible, but I'm not sure that's something I'm allowed to do. Regardless, I want to avoid directly taking mojang's textures as much as possible.

is there anything i need to know about putting items from a different pack into this one?
for some reason, my stone sword and stone axe are half the size then normal
is this just my first time realizing and is normal or did i mess up somehow?
