We SO need Optifine (or parts of that code) in Vanilla. Our server is on the snapshot, so we eagerly await the release (and Optifine update) so we can use this again.
I just noticed the lack of diamond armor variance. I feel like most of the worlds/servers I play on (that aren't creative mode) already have full diamond armor, so there is little choice when it comes to making custom diamond armor, perhaps you could make something like Cobalt, Mythril and Adamantite armor.
I also figure that it will be okay to use the Picksaw texture from Terraria, since I've seen a lot of Terraria mods and texture packs using the full blown textures of some items in Terraria, so I think if you drop 505games an email or something, I'm sure they would totally allow you to use it as long as they are credited. But that's just an idea.
Also, is it possible to apply 3d models to named armor? An example would be Viking helmet, where the horns stick out.

@L0ST5ILVER, I posted on the same thing and suggested "collars, harnesses, belts, and claws" as a more "unobtrusive" render for armor, particularly for people with "animal" skins. I use a ferret skin, for example. It goes all but unseen because the diamond covers it all up but the face.

Although they were sometimes used as weapons, the misconception cape across as villagers would be attacked in fields so they would defend with the only thing they could defend with, there scythes

Rule of Cool. It's like saying, "Light sabers would make horrible weapons. Ignore the fact they don't really exist. If they did, you would be more likely to cut your own head off as do any harm." Which is true, fair enough. And nobody cares, because they are "cool".
The scythe is symbolic of the Grim Reaper. It isn't so much that he uses it as a weapon, at least as far as I've seen in fiction. It's that he's "The Reaper", and the scythe is the symbol of what he does... taking people's souls at death. It is the meaning behind the symbol that instills fear in the bearer of the "weapon". Ignoring the symbology, and providing you don't simply use a gun to the center-of-mass, halberd or even a simple long stick would be enough to deprive a "Reaper" of his "weapon". And I don't think anyone really cares, because it looks cool and scary. Vanilla Minecraft Game mechanics have no "disarm". My sister loves her scythe in Minecraft.

Plus call me a geeky Star Wars nerd but I have like 15 light saber toys and I use them with friends, there easier than regular swords since all of them can cut, scythes however are freaking designed for cutting rows of crops with one slice, what do you think hat would do to human flesh? Or skeleton bones? Or zombie flesh? They are effective weapons in reality to. I have a sharpness 3 dark scyth on a server and boy does it kill, also have my trusty Cardinal bow infinity, punch, flame, power 4 unbreaking 3. And blue eclipse blade mending, unbreaking, sharpness 5 oh I love my items, and there textures

Yeah that's something I'm super excited about. Though it's assuming that you can specify restrictions and stuff on item display names for crafting. I don't know if that's a thing that will be possible, but if it is, then it opens up a world of possibilities for itembound on servers or singleplayer survival.
Hey, i wanted to ask... Could you do more 'armor' stuff or a weapon stuff from cartoons?
I honestly love Gravity Falls, so if you could make a Dipper's hat?

Hiiii! i luv this resource pack, I has suggestion a spade for the shovels, and maybe sneakers for leather boots and camo or something for dia gear?

Just have a few ideas for the next bonus chest. Te first two are related, but the third isn't.
1. Robes (These would look somewhat like Ben Kenobi's robes from Star Wars, base is leather armor.)
2. Lightsaber (Like Concrete swords, but base could be iron or diamond, and maybe fire aspect.)
3. Nintendo Switch Dock (In a similar vein to the PS4 and X-Box helmet-pieces, just a Switch dock.)
