Just created a resource pack to replace ALL the default Minecraft fireworks sounds. Tested on 1.7.10.
To install:
Paste ZIP file in your .minecraft/resourcepacks/ folder. Open Minecraft. Click on OPTIONS, RESOURCE PACKS. You should see the Firework Sound Pack.zip in Available Resource Packs. Click on the right arrow to move it to Selected Resource Pack. Make sure it is on the top of all other packs.
If you have an issue with your fireworks disappearing and not exploding, I would suggest you only use 1 gun powder when crafting the firework rocket. It seems that longer flight durations will cause the firework rocket to travel outside the loaded chunk and not render. This may be a 1.7.10 unfixed bug.
