[NEW!] [v1.0.0] Ultra Pack!
Poll: How would you rate this pack? (YOU HAVE TO TRY THE PACK FIRST)
Ended Apr 11, 2015
I'm Jai, and this is the official forum for the Ultra Pack! I have been working on this pack for quite some time now, and I want to share it with the community. It is not completely done, so please criticize and expect changes and additions. It is recommended that you CHECK BACK REGULARLY FOR UPDATES! It does not require MCPatcher or Optifine AS OF NOW, nor contains any features from either of them. I'm doing this non-profit as of now also, but I might put up a donate button later. Even though the links go through Adfly, they aren't monetized yet. Thanks, and enjoy!

Ultra Pack! Neon Addon!
The Ultra Pack! Neon Addon turns the Stained Clay blocks into neon colors! Great for building colorful solid neon color designs! Like the neon wool in my resource pack, it turns them neon but a solid color!

...You don't have any pictures. Please add pictures.
You can just call me Canary.
How not to look like a total fool in the forum games
You should add some pictures of the resourse pack
It will definatly attract more people to the pack as they can take a quick peek at what it looks like and decide if they like it or not!
Goodluck with your pack!
Adfly to an "archive"? No. Also, you really need images.
Sorry! I wasn't quite finished! I took the pictures! I'm uploading them now! I was up late last night, and I got tired. I also have the direct links, just I haven't put them on there. I also have a website.

ModeratorHey, it's this pack again! Been a while since we've seen a completely bog-standard bucket fill pack on the forum. Good to know horrible design is alive and well on the forum!
But in all seriousness, this isn't very good. Bucket-fill packs are never well received. This is partially because they've been done to death and back a thousand times, but also because they're not interesting to look at. How's the grass texture? Green. Just... green. How's the dirt texture? Uh... brown. How's the brown wool look? Also brown. So what's the difference between the dirt and brown wool? Uh... slightly different shades? I guess?
You see the problem here. It's difficult to tell things apart in bucket-fill packs like this. It removes all of the interesting elements from the pack and replaces it with bland, boring colors. It's marginally OK for making pixel art, but you don't really have a good palette for that either. It's horrible for survival since you've removed all of the identifying features from your blocks making it hard to tell things apart at a glance.
As I always do for people who make these, I strongly suggest that you rethink your concept. What you have isn't going to be well received, and isn't really useful for anything. More than that, there's a million of this pack out there. I would be well within my rights to just remove this thread for plagiarism since there's so many packs almost exactly like this one out there. Even if you say that you personally like this kind of pack, and that's fine if you do, there's no reason to make another one when there are thousands of them to choose from.
I hope that helps you, and I hope that you move forward and make something better than this.
Bucket - fill packs are not recommended. If this is your first resource pack then I suggest starting off with your own theme!
Glad to see that you are a moderator now Alvoria, you deserve it!
Hero's Destiny! A WIP mod coming soon!
SciTech! An amazing WIP technology mod that lets you tamper with RADIOACTIVE substances!
I'm sorry. I just like everything smooth and simple. It also helps people with laggy computers. I don't like thinks completely pixelated because they hurt my eyes. I'm planning to add more to it later. I'm sorry it doesn't fit your tastes. If you are going to remove it from the forums, then remove it. I spent a lot of time on it though and I just wanted to see what people would think about it. I thought it would look good for stuff like PvP.

ModeratorNo it doesn't. Not even a little. Even if all of the pixels are the same color Minecraft still has to render every one of them. The only way to make a pack that improves performance is to lower the resolution. Unless this is an 8x pack, it's not going to do squat for performance. Trust me, the regulars here have done the tests and crunched the numbers.

Curse PremiumFirst of all, bucket-fills do NOT reduce lag. I have no idea where people keep getting that idea... Secondly, you clearly did not spend a lot of time making this... It's a bucket-fill, come on... Thirdly, there is a reason these "thinks" are called PIXEL art... In addition to this, this isn't "smooth and simple". Simple packs still have minor distinguishable details. There is shading. It isn't all just one or two colours clashing together. Honestly, there are plenty of bucket-fill packs out there, you really didn't need to add to that. Anyways, please don't think that I'm hating on you or your pack, I'm really not, I'm just telling you that nobody is interested in another bucket-fill. I strongly recommend that you read some texturing tutorials here on the forums, and practice a lot before posting another pack. Again, I'm not hating or anything, just giving constructive criticism. (Wow... I wrote so much... gotta go sleep now, I'm exhausted)
your faceMinecraft (?)Ok. You guys may not like it, and you may say that there are a lot of the same things on the forum out there, but I would like at least one person to prove how many there are out there. By the way, who said I was done? Oh, and Alvoria, you could be a little nicer.
Also, if you don't like it, LEAVE ME ALONE. xD

I would not recommend using adfly links before a resource pack is popular.

Curse PremiumWell, by titling your thread "v1.0.0", you are implying that you are releasing a complete version of your pack. And, you uploaded your resource pack to a PUBLIC forum, where anyone can see and comment on your stuff. If you can't take criticism, don't post your stuff to a public forum. Period. Nobody was being rude or mean here, just trying to help you out.

Curse PremiumHonestly though, I could make a better texture pack than this using MS PAINT. (Of course using other programs to add the translucent parts.) And like, seriously? An adf.ly link? Really? And not even a non- adf.ly link?

Curse PremiumOkay, so I'm gonna try making your better textures. THIS IS SOMETHING I MADE IN 2 MINS., OR SO.
Okay so I'm gonna open up paint, set up a 16 x 16 pixel canvas and then fill it with a brown and green color like so:
And then I'm going to add a darker color for both the colors using the paint's color editor and just add a bit of simple shading (It's gonna look like FVDisco's OCD Pack. -_-):
DON'T STOP THERE ^!!!!
And then I'm gonna add a circular(-ish) shade on the square.
There! Granted it's going to have a lot of tiling issues, but it's still better than a plain ol' bucket fill pack! And it's gonna look better with CTM.
bucket fill
absolute bucket fill
If only i could change my username
I think I have gotten to the point where I can release it and let the community view it. When I originally started creating the pack about a year ago, I intended it for my use only. When I had completed it, I had sent it to my friends, and they loved it. That's why I decided to post it here. If people don't like it, then go find another one. I can potentially make it even better after it's released.

ModeratorLet me give you some advice for living: When you have an idea, don't run it by your friends if you want honest feedback. Most people will give their friends positive feedback on things they're doing, or ideas they have, even if whatever it is is awful.
This is doubly true for parents. They are an unbridled source of positive feedback... not realistic feedback.
I'm sorry if I came off as being a bit harsh, but I meant what I said. You stated that you posted it to see what the community thinks, and I told you. If you want to know what a community thinks about something, you have to open yourself up to the possibility that they will not like what you're doing. That's the nature of a public forum: by posting here you automatically invite both praise and criticism and will usually get one or the other but rarely both.
You are fortunate, though, in that you've not only been told in detail why we don't like your work, but also how to improve it. You have been given a chance to improve what you've done, grow as an artist, and create something unique. You can choose to do that, or you can sit on this boring bucket fill that you like and really nobody else does. The choice is yours, of course, and I wish you the best in whichever option you choose.
