After two whole years since the last time I updated this pack people are still downloading it, and it is still my most downloaded resource pack to date.
That is why I have finally decided to return and make sure those who are downloading Naturus are getting the best and most updated version possible. So, for the past week or so, I have taken it upon myself to not only update the pack to the 1.13.x versions of Minecraft, but to completely re-create the pack from the ground up with improvements all around and even brand new features. All with the goal of (hopefully) staying true to the pack's roots, while also improving upon what it can be.
So here it is, version 2.0. Although at first glance it may look similar to Naturus 1.0, they are without a doubt two different ways of going about the same idea. One problem I had with Naturus 1.0 is that it's scope of what it was trying to accomplish was very wide, covering all aspects of "nature" in Minecraft. With the 2.0 version however, I have narrowed the features of the pack to focus more closely on it's original idea; to do it's best to re-create features found previously only in mods like Shaders and Better Foliage in a vanilla or Optifine setting. This includes things such as shadows and moving plants (a full list of features can be found in the thread below).
Although the new version is here, and will be continued to be updated as the main version of Naturus, the old versions will still be up for download in the "legacy" section of this thread for those who prefer the old versions.
I like this! The Lighting in some area's look awkward, though. I thought the sun emitted a sort of yellow/blueish light. But it still looks really cool.
If you mean better Grass, as in Grass on the whole block, then Optifine does the same. Having Optifine at Fancy Grass makes it the same. Unless you are talking about something different.
And no, when I said I added grass on every block. I literally changed the block model for grass so that it looks like there is tallgrass on every block of grass you place. They also spawn at different heights to make it look more natural. As you can see in the 4th screenshot, there is no block of grass without "tallgrass" on it.

That... is a terrible idea... How are you supposed to find seeds or clear out grassy areas to build on?

I thought it would be a problem too, however it really isn't, honestly, I realized I don't look for seeds that often. However, If you would like, I could make a version of the resource pack in which the extra grass is shorter than the real grass, so it would be easy to distinguish the two. Also, I don't see any problems in clearing out a flat area, could you please elaborate on that?
I agree on his/her statement. Plus, putting tall grass on each grass block actually make it too noisy. As stated above, how would you suppose to find and collect seeds or clear out grassy areas to build on? I hope you can make it an "Add-on" on your resource pack instead, so it would be more flexible to other people.
Thanks for the input, I will change it to an addon
Also about the grass being noisy, It doesn't sound like there is tallgrass on every block, it just looks like there is.
Noise takes on many different meanings - I believe what the poster was trying to say was simply that the grass effect on all of the grass blocks was excessive and makes things look busy (and obviously, actual grass difficult to see).
I have seen other texture packs add this sort of grass, however it's significantly smaller and less obstructive. If you tone down the size and amount and leave it a few pixels high, it would accomplish the same effect without the clutter.

Oh I get it now
I guess I just prefer more wild and overgrown grass.
So, I will continue to leave the download up, I will add a new download for lower grass if that's somebody's preference.

This works extremely well, there's just one problem though that I'm having, for some reason your Better Grass thing cause light to light up whole blocks rather than being smooth like it is for every other block. As other people have asked, can you find a way to remove it and put a download for it, or at least tell me how without having to fiddle with JSON for an hour and a half? While I love the grass, the lighting bug just ruins it for me, otherwise this is superb, I absolutely love it.
Edit: You are a genius when it came to the sounds, I would have never of thought of using steps.
I can remove the model on top by changing the transparency or removing the call to the texture, but I haven't been able to remove the grass "model" itself, as seen below. Edit: I can remove the model part, but then I'm left with missing textures, but the lighting issue does resolve
Yes, there is currently a problem with the smooth lighting on grass. This, however, is a problem with minecraft itself and I have no control over it. It seems smooth lighting just doesn't work well with block models. If you would like to remove the better grass completely (fixing the lighting error) you can go into the folder of the resource pack, search "grass" and simply delete all the search results, this should remove any changes I have made to the grass.
Can you please provide one without grass? The dirt blocks all have grass on them and look funny when they are broken it looks funny, but I love everything else!
But yeah, I'm having the same issue as Buffalo. When you break the grass block, the tall grass part of it disappears and instead appears glitch-like blocks.
I already removed them from the pack here (I hope you can fix it ! x3) and so far I'm having a great experience. Great job.

It is actually partly your fault. The ""ambientocclusion": false," is what is making the smooth lighting not function on the grass blocks. However, upon removal, the tall grass additions become very dark, but the smooth lighting DOES work just fine.
Yes. The dark grass was the problem I was speaking of. I personally hate having it with the grass so strange looking so that's why I said it doesn't work well with block models. I apologize for not being as clear.
i absolutely love this pack! I will record a resource pack review of it tomorrow. It's just an idea but it would be realy cool if you could make actual birds using a combination of ctm, custom models and random textures
