Mogyle, you can always replace the glass and stonebrick yourself. It's really easy if you have an old version of Derivation with the old textures. Just select the textures in question out of the old terrain.png and make them each into their own files. Replace the pack's new stone brick, glass, etc files with the old ones. I think I'll do that with glass, cobble, and stonebrick variants. Customizing a pack yourself isn't that hard as long as you have all the files. And when there's an update to Minecraft, just download the updated pack and transfer the textures to new blocks and items to your customized pack
Did I ask anything ? I know how to do all of this, I just replied to MrDmicom's question, nothing more...
But it's funny that you say you'd prefer keeping most of Levaunt's artwork, but when it comes to stick with the recent ones, other people should change instead of you reverting back to what it previoulsy was
For a real solution, both can be used by using MCPatcher/Optifine with one being created by putting 2 slabs rather than the block itself.
Anyway, JetStorm has been involved in Derivation for a long time now, and I have a blind faith in his decisions for the pack, whatever he chooses.
Edit - And while I'm at it, dunnra and XSSheep are also reliable when in comes to be true with Levaunt's will.

Oh, sorry! That was meant for MrDmicom, I misread! My intention was never to impose the old textures on anyone... I just read the wrong name. I thought you were the one who liked the old textures. It's an honest mistake. Corrected.
bwuh!? Blind faith huh? damn, now I feel the pressure xD I am hopeful that others will help out. I just know that with how busy I am it will be difficult to texture much over the next 2 months. Thank you though for believing in my abilities lol. Also, doing the double slab thing with ctm to do the old stone bricks is a nice idea. If enough people agree, I might add that into the next release of the pack.

I think it's a bit of a stretch to change the double slab to something that looks so different. Is there anything else that could use the old stonebrick (recolored)? Polished stone types or Prismarine, maybe?
I don't understand why the stonebrick was changed in the first place to be honest. The old one fit the pack perfectly. I especially loved how some individual bricks were lighter and darker than others. The new one is too much like the Vanilla texture in my opinion and doesn't fit the style of the pack as well as the old one.

If it can help you with pressure, it's not about your abilities and spare time to work on it, but more on carrying on the spirit of the pack.
It's more about taking the right decisions than the level of involvement in texturing.

This pack has always been about all blocks being very unique, recoloring can be done for a temporary placeholder, but not a nice viable solution.
And about the double slab thing, it's used by some packs to have virtually 14 more blocks.
This is just a suggestion. You could use the carpet textures like the author of this pack did. http://imgur.com/a/Nxpdt. Just scroll down a little bit and you can see what I'm talking about.
maybe, I'll look into it. I'm not a big fan of using carpets with things like that. I don't think the always look that great since they can appear to hover above a block. I might make it a replacement texture for the double stone slab (the full smooth sided variant that can only be obtained through spawning it in) for creative purposes.

But wouldn't that render some colors of carpet unusable?
It seems 1.9 will bring about a "pressed dirt" block that is 15/16th's tall and is a potential pathway block. Once we have a snapshot with it I will look into using the pathway CTM for that block or doing something similar to the pathway CTM that is more natural than the stone tiles randomly placed dependent on how Mojang/Microsoft utilize the new block in the game.
yea, there are some things in there that i was working on trying to get sorted out but ran out of time. I don't know why it is giving you the black and purple squares though. It shows the single log top for me when I have that ctm enabled :/ and I'll look into the steve head. It is probably related to the change in size for char.png
Let me know of any other errors you come across so I can address them in the next version. Also any suggestions you have for adjusting textures or things you'd like to see done. I'm going to work on creating individual textures for the stone variants so they aren't just recolors. and I will hopefully have the log CTM fixed with the next version.
EDIT: Here is a fixed steve.png just place this in assets>minecraft>textures>entity>steve.png and replace the one that is already there, It will fix the issue.
I think it's a little unfair for folks to expect JetStorm to be able to continue making this pack and have it stay close to the look of the original. Even when someone is doing their best to stay in the spirit of the original whatever their own personal style is going to change it until it's more their thing than the other persons thing. IMO (as someone without the art skills to contribute) I'm all for Jet doing what their conscience feels is best and feel that they're capable of doing a great job at it. Certainly better than I could.
To be honest I'm amazed the pack has lasted this long and have enough faith in Jet to feel that no matter where it goes from here (even if it's discontinued) it's gone there because they did what they felt was best for it.

I just don't understand why any of the original Levaunt textures have to change. They were good to start with.

I'm going to assume that it's because as the game changes it's going to require new textures. Since the new textures are going to look different from the Levaunt textures the texture pack will end up lacking consistency unless they do their best to carry on in the spirit of the original texture pack while making it more consistent with their own style(s).
I have finally graduated from school so I will have a "little" bit more time on my hands. Sorry for being so quiet but school and graduation were my priority.
Any block/item you feel could use an update or you find missing a texture, feel free to work on something for it. I will manage the pack and will choose/edit whatever is submitted to make it all as seemless as possible so the pack all fits but any extra's (different textures not used for the main pack, say we have 4 people submit cobblestone alternatives) can be used elsewhere in some form or another as mod support. So if there is something you want to texture in the Derivation style and submit, go for it.

No problem

It would as carpet but the trade off is nice.
1. Steve heads never show up correctly for me:
2. CTM for wood types has some missing textures:
