Best of luck maintaining this beautiful pack, Jetstorm.
After 4 years of maintaining my own pack, I know full well the sacrifice you've made doing this. Everything looks really nicely presented up there!
Best wishes for it's continued success!
Thanks Glimmar. I will do my best in between my full time job and going to school full time. Updates may not come with every snapshot but I hope that with the help of the community we may be able to maintain this pack well into the future.
Thank God! I was so sad that the pack was no longer being updated as this is my favorite texture pack. Thank you JetStorm for it's revival!
You're welcome
Quote from Shadow_Forge_Master»So this is community continuation? Are we all free to contribute this?
Yes this is a community continuation. Feel free to post anything you'd like to contribute and I will do what I can to update the pack when a good portion of stuff is done.
I also just want to point out, there are some WIP things in the pack that I need to finish or fix still but some of it is things that I need an update to mcpatcher in order to get them to work correctly. Also, This includes community textures posted in the original thread. I will be adding a text document with thanks to those contributors in the next release of the pack.
Thank you for finally making an official continuation thread. It was long overdue! I'd like to help out a bit if possible. Any plans on keeping a list of textures that need to be done?
I will try to get something together soon. I made the old gravel texture into the course dirt texture so we could use either a new gravel or a new course dirt texture. We still need a rabbit foot and rabbit hide item. I just did recolors of the sandstone stuff for the red sandstone variants so we could use some unique blocks for those. Also the andesite, diorite, and granite textures are just simple recolors, if you have any ideas on making some unique looking replacements we could use those too. I'll get a Google doc or something together so we have one coherent place for missing textures.

This is just my humble opinion, but I think you should make a new coarse dirt instead of a new gravel. I'd like to see the pack stay as original as possible, preserving the old Levaunt textures. But that's just my opinion.
Old stone brick and glass were better or am I alone in thinking?
I agree. I'd like to see as many of Levaunt's original textures preserved as possible. A customizer would be nice, although I understand that requires a lot of work. I also don't like the new cobble, even though I think Levaunt was still doing the pack when that became a thing.
Hey, JetStorm. I just wanted to say thanks for continuing this. I've been using this pack since early 2013 and I can't imagine playing without it. Hopefully some day my art skills will be good enough for me to contribute Until then the best I can do is offer morale support. This is such an awesome pack. I'm very grateful for the effort.
I'm definitely looking forward to this continuation. I absolutely adore Levaunt's work and was sad to hear that he wouldn't be able to spend as much time on Derivation and I think you'll do a great job of texturing.

noted, I will try again to make a new coarse dirt texture when I have a little time.

I like the newer ones better but maybe we can utilize those textures somewhere else, maybe as Chisel mod support?
Thank you everyone who is saying they think I'll do a great job with this. It means a lot. I am in my final semester of school and working full time so things are a little hectic right now but hopefully I will be able to work on some things and get us fully 1.8 ready before the next snapshots come out. I have a bit of homework I have to get done today but if I can I will try to sort out what still needs to be done and get a google doc going.
MrDmicom, you can always replace the glass and stonebrick yourself. It's really easy if you have an old version of Derivation with the old textures. Just select the textures in question out of the old terrain.png and make them each into their own files. Replace the pack's new stone brick, glass, etc files with the old ones. I think I'll do that with glass, cobble, and stonebrick variants. Customizing a pack yourself isn't that hard as long as you have all the files. And when there's an update to Minecraft, just download the updated pack and transfer the textures to new blocks and items to your customized pack

Ok cool just making sure
I prefer the new one, as it stands out from other blocks with its bigger shapes.
