So when I renamed obsidian in the the lang file....

I'm new here, So I don't know how to embed stuff.

I think I attached them to the post.

Anywayssss

Obsidian's textures become the purple-and-black error texture. D: I don't know why. Can anyone explain?

The reason is, when you made the texture, in the Minecraft textures it still needs to be called obsidian to be able for the game to detect the block name and texture. The purple checker board block is a missing texture.
