I absolutely love this pack to bits, it's a prize piece of work and make no mistake.
However, I am running Minecraft on three computers, 2 desktops (which my sons use) and 1 on a laptop... and this pack only seems to work on the laptop, which is an Alienware, but nothing special and certainly not as stonky as the desktops.
So why does the pack only work on the laptop and not the desktops? It's a mystery. But perhaps some of you awesome peeps out there have the solution for me?
Desktops run MC 1.7.10 (for MCHeli resons) and then when kids are in bed I load it up into 1.11.2.
Laptop is always in 1.11.2 (except occasionally I'll run 1.10)
Forge on all three computers. Plenty of RAM going about this house so mem is not the problem.
All three systems are running Win 10. .....
PS. sorry to hear that you are discontinuing this fantastic pack... but life calls eh
I dropped support for versions prior to 1.8 quite a while ago. 1.7.10 used a completely different format for things, so most artists don't bother back-porting to anything as old as that. Sorry!
BTW, I've updated the pack to work with 1.11+ without complaining about being outdated.
So for the time being, I'd like to hold off on any Triton continuation projects. I appreciate the intereest, but for various reasons, I'm not quite ready to hand over the reins yet.
What if we offered some help then? Instead of handing over the projects you could give task to us and we could made those textures and send them to you, and you approve them, and put into the pack.. ? I have never did any texture pack because I know it is a grand project, but I can offer my help.
I revoke my previous statement about not allowing edits or continuations. You're free to do whatever you please with this pack and all its assets, you are free to make additions and edits, and you're free to upload and share the pack and said edits wherever you please. Please do!(Just promise not to pass the whole thing off as your own, okay? That's just rude).
I think there's still a "license" zipped in the pack, which I no longer consider relevant and can be ignored. You have my thumbs-up of approval:
Okay, I am attempting to fix this pack and finish it. I mean fix it for sure, cause you may have "updated" this to work with 1.11 but you broke all the things. naming files and images of the textures seems to be the major issue your pack is having. you didn't either start with the names that match how minecraft would have named them or you also would have blockstate files with different names then you named your textures. This is gonna take a lot of time to repair and fix. Finishing the textures or making them will be the simple part. I am also fixing it for the newest version of minecraft 1.14.4 as of right now. Since renaming everything is a major part of fixing it to work I will work on back dating it for the earlier versions once I have fixed current textures and actually finished the missing textures. I am new to this but it seems pretty easy to pick up on how stuff works within the resource and the little bit of code used to "read" the textures and apply them. I will most likely have to do away with the custom 3d stuff til I have better understanding of which ones work and which ones are broken completely. I loved this pack when you first released it incomplete so long ago. Can't believe how long ago.
I'll try to work with these files for the 1.17 because I'm sure most of us would like to play with the newest version when it comes out. If there is anyone who has proceeded in this pack let's discuss it.
Amethyst blocks would be really nice animated but the java 16 change drops my fps to zero if I use them. I don't know if this is a local problem by my setup (but until the 21w18a snapshot everything worked perfectly) or some global problem :\
There is a bugtracker about it but I don't think they would correct it soon. But I'm not an optimist in this case.
