Really enjoying these new textures you are whipping up!
There's plenty more improvements coming up. I don't always have time to get nice-looking screenshots of them, but trust me, the next update (hopefully before the end of the month) will make Triton look SO much better... then comes Industrial Expansion!
Closed two polls and added a new one... the version question is mainly to help me figure out if I should include the stuff needed to make things work with 1.7, which I might rather not have taking up space in the pack.
Looks like stained clay will be staying the same, most likely. The new cobblestone I've decided on isn't quite as uneven as some might hope, but it's nothing like the original bricky one. I'll try and post some pics later.
As of now, about 150 textures have been edited in some way, and Triton is looking better than ever, IMO. I'm hoping that the new update will be finished before February! Here's some hastily-done screenshots of the most heavily-changed blocks, in 64x, so my puny laptop can actually run them. Some of the block models still have side-shading, have yet to fix that on all blocks.
(This is lit by torchlight, thus the heavy orange) Here you can see the new cobble design I've chosen, and the new health, armor, and hunger bars. The new bars have some nice gradients to make them a bit more interesting then the flat old ones. The crosshair is much smaller and sharper, with a new design. Lastly, I'm changing all the item models to orient towards the camera, rather than at a weird sideways angle like default. It does a MUCH better job of showing off the item texture itself.
New torches, with a custom model and animated texture. The handheld torch has a light halo.
Redstone ore has new shape, redid mycelium, and gave the pumpkin/jack-o-lantern a nose and a bigger face.
Four all-new plank designs (L to R, top to bottom: dark oak, jungle, spruce, acacia). The oak log is shaded differently.
Stonebrick! The cracked one has three variants. Stone slab to the right.
I added this orbiting planet to the skybox a while back, and have been debating wether to keep it or not. What do you think?
New melon and edited furnace, dispenser, and dropper. Bed no longer looks weird.
New endportal textures (all of which are animated), and iron bars.
New doors, admittedly not as cool as the old ones. I wanted to make them a bit more faithful.
This is the new GUI design that I've decided on (finally). It has larger, brighter item slots and a somewhat darker background.
-New snow, jungle leaves, acacia leaves, lava, grass, cobblestone, moss stone, and iron block.
-New reflective look for emerald, gold and diamond blocks. Emerald block, diamond block, and diamond item are now animated.
-Textures for bone meal, coal, charcoal, spider eye, item frame and head icons, and 11 music disk.
-Tweaked clay ball, dirt (and all textures with dirt), hardened clay, flint, lapis ore, colormap (jungles are much brighter), steve (no more freakishly big eyes), and stone sounds.
-Skybox for nighttime (from my old pack, Day One, but improved slightly).
-Fire's color has been desaturated. Also added a motion blur to fire, which makes it look ridiculously cool. Seriously… just jump in a lava pool and see!
-Early custom model work! I wanted to put off models for a while, but I just HAD to do a few:
-Beacon has a 3D wave effect (known bug: the beacon looks really glitchy when being broken)
-Grass has a 3D fringe on it's edges. This model is mostly a modified version of the grass in the Conquest 3D models pack, so credit goes to them.
-The Command Block side CTM has been implemented with models.
-Glowstone, jack-o-lanterns and lit furnaces are much brighter, thanks to block models.
-Mob textures! Creeper, Enderman, Cow, Sheep, Skeleton, Zombie, and Alex are now textured!
-Removed gravel/sand motion blur CTM, Iron bar vertical CTM, stone stairs CTM, and Iron block CTM.
-Andesite, Granite, Diorite, and their polished forms are all textured
-Leather armor!
-Wood and snow step sounds, wood dig sound, swim sound, and splash sounds.
-New rain, this time with some cool opacity effects to make it much more atmospheric. I know this effect doesn't exactly work perfectly (just look up or down while moving), so I'll probably release an addon to remove it if people find it annoying.
-Lightmap changes:
-Torchlight reaches much further and now fades to grey instead of red, which prevents most of the ugly yellow colors seen at high brightness settings
-Daylight no longer has a yellow tint, but is pure white.
-Night vision effects have been changed to fit the different dimension's fog color better.
-Use the Visibility Lightmap if you want to see in 0 light-level shadows
Check out more cool stuff on Triton's official website!
I love, love, love all the improvements on the textures (and the new ones)! The only suggestion I have is possibly posting not-in-the-OP download links along with the screenshots. Like unofficial updates, of sorts. I love the changes, don't get me wrong, it's the waiting part that kills me.

That's something I might consider offering that as a perk for something like Patreon (which I'm considering joining). It'd probably have to be full-res only, since batch-rescaling textures into three other sizes takes time. And there'd be the issue of keeping track of a bunch of extra download links.
This pack is so beautiful, especially with the new texture improvements.
Why thank you, o' great master of textures!
The block changes are pretty much 100% done (posted some new stuff in the TAU thread). Now it's on to items and just a few mob tweaks. I've also made a few of the paintings:
I won't spoil too much, but here's one of the not-actually-a-painting paintings; a villager newspaper. Villagers don't have the best writing skills... they even used Comic Sans. Ouch.
Make moar vilger newz!1!!1 Itz verry funny! We wont steel it!
Why are there so many ppl not liking Comic Sans btw?
I think it started as a graphic designer joke. Comic sans is a widely available font that's been around forever, and people used it all the time to make their writings look more funny/informal, but I guess it started to get old. Really old.
You guys got me thinking... making more vilger newz could be a lot of fun. I browse the minecraft subreddit a lot, so maybe every week or so I could make a page of vilger newz, making fun of the popular posts and Mojang tweets on there. Could be fun. XD
Glad ya like it! In the future, you probably shouldn't quote an entire topic in your post. People tend to not like that.

Oh my god this is epic.
I already imagine the guy from element animation voicing this.
MAKE MOREEEEEEEEE
I said I would have the update out before February, and guess what: I was right for once!
Also, you're not gonna believe this, but I managed to edit both the first AND second posts of the thread without them turning into jumbled walls of code! Something must be wrong with the forums... they're actually working for once.
mmmm
I wish that actually made the furnace better and more efficient or something xD looks sick!
(also, i like that half of the crafting bench )
I'm a man, btw.
I'm sure we could work this out.
Somehow....
Being a man myself... I have a feeling this probably won't work.

But I do love the resource pack, I cant wait for it to be done,

As I said, the ones in the screenshots 64x so I can actually run the pack. But they are, of course, 512x as usual.
nothing SO GOOD!!!!!!
BBBEEESSSTTTT!!!!!
So much hype!

Could you give us permission to use them in our packs, please?
Radiant Pixels - Vibrant, Colorful and Eye-Pleasing Resource Pack
Probably not. Sorry!

Yay! An update! However, the "Downloads Page" link on the first post is broken...
