A few pages back, you posted a before and after gif showing several textures. I'm referring to the old cobble there. It looks a bit darker than the new one, and more like bricks instead of the new one, which looks a bit flat to me and like it's just a bunch of rocks piled up.
Yes, I didn't really enjoy the new one either. I did a new version more recently that isn't in the update snapshot yet. I'm even thinking of redoing this one as well... to look more akin to the cobble in the ZigZag pack. I don't think I'm ever going to be happy with my cobblestone.
ok, well if it's just an incompatibility between 1.8 and 1.9 then I will be patient for the official 1.9 release keep up the amazing work! also inhand tools are all messed XD im sure that's just a 1.8-1.9 thing too any way love the pack!
Well I'll be durned... the ol' one-point-niner update is out!
Unfortunately its also midterms week for me, so there will be little progress on Triton right now. After that, I have a week off, so there's a chance I could pull an update together. An OFFICIAL one this time, although not the final update like I had originally planned.
Given my busyness with school and current disinterest in minecraft, I wouldn't expect the grand final update until sometime this summer, maybe later. But 1.8>1.9 compatibility is clearly an issue, especially with an official 1.9 version available. As I've said before, if there's an update, there will be both a 1.8 and 1.9 version of the pack, and they will be updated concurrently.
Ringo take your time! School and your real life are both vastly more important than minecraft, so focus on those things first! Update the pack when it fits your schedule! wonderful work so far though!! Keep it up(when it suits you though)!
Let's Plays!....Including Minecraft ones. We plan on doing many episodic...well...um...episodes in Minecraft.
BUT! We need a texture pack. Normal Minecraft can be tiring to look at. Especially if you're like me and have about 20 different resource packs in your game. I've been assigned to find the perfect one for our channel, and I think I have...
I fell in love with yours the moment I laid eyes on it. I've shown it to my fellow hosts and they like it too! We are seriously considering making this our main texture pack for almost all of our Minecraft let's plays.
In return we would give credit on all of our Minecraft videos featuring Triton. Giving shoutouts to you and providing a link in the video descriptions.
But unfortunately, It's not 100% yet.
My only disappointment was finding that it wasn't completely done yet. This pack is way too good to just leave unfinished. Now I know I can just use two packs simultaneously to cover it up or something like that. But it'd be awesome to have all of it be Triton.
I don't know if all that would be enough to motivate you to finish or not.
But I would really encourage you to finish this amazing project you started. You have a great talent a texture creating....
As of today, I've pretty much successfully merged v4, v5 preview, and my recent work into a single, functioning pack for 1.8. A bit more work, and it could be ready for release. The hard part comes when I have to port it to 1.9 as well. All of my custom positions and placements that I've made for items and blocks will have to be rewritten!
I am also looking into other creative endeavors, getting back into gaming, and finishing up a first year at university, so as I've said previously I'm a bit preoccupied with stuffs. But I just wanted to make it known that Triton will continue to be updated in the future.
Turns out the outlined block model I made for items in the GUI also works pretty well on the terrain itself... possible future add-on.
@Ringoster I'm really excited for this resourcepack, don't want to sound like a beggar, but it's taking a REALLY Long time... I was kinda hoping the final release would be synchronous with the Minecraft 1.9 release, but even now, weeks after its release, there's not even a complete pack for 1.8. The pack is AMAZING! But the hype and excitement just isn't there for me anymore...

Hey, I'm just glad that you were hyped in the first place! I guess my big, exciting update headers were working...
I'm sorry I can't really deliver on that front. Us resource pack artists are 'going it alone', after all. It's hard to keep a tight schedule when the project is something you do in your free time.
I'm really excited to see where it goes. Yeah, there is a LOT to do and doing it alone must be rough lol. I'd like to say thanks though for working so hard to make such an AWESOME pack and thanks for taking the time to reply. Good luck on those 1.9 fixes. I hate when updates break things xD

Absolutely second you on that.
Adding new stuff in updates is bad enough, but having to fix existing stuff that gets broken because of changes can be a bit soul destroying on limited free time. Hang in there.
Just looking through the thread and being amazed and still downloading anyway. Haven't been around a lot for many months so trying to catch up on all my favourite packs.
Hey folks! I've finally updated Triton to 1.9! I've taken a bit of an unspoken hiatus since around August, but I'm happy to say that I've finally come around and updated everything to modern MC versions. The 1.8 version is pretty stable... the 1.9 version not so much. Help me out by reporting any bugs you find!
CHANGELOG:
PSYCH. No changelog here, but suffice to say that basically EVERYTHING has been edited in some way since V4. There's even a new, more proper versioning number for updates!
KNOWN ISSUES:
Sky colormap is broken on Optifine
Spider eyes look derpy in low res versions
Stone stairs corners are disfunctional
Command block is gigantic
Some mob textures have visible seamlines
Some items may not appear in the left hand properly
But you should really add accented chars to the font
Also, why are all the colors of redstone turning red?
Might be tricky, but I can certainly look into it.
The redstone coloring is caused by a colormap file that is used by Optifine. I'll take it out in the next update (it's not really doing much anyway). In the meantime you can find "redstone.png" in packnamehere>assets>minecraft>mcpatcher>colormap and delete that image to fix the issue.

Curse PremiumEh, not exactly. Block model placement/sizes don't cross over between 1.8 and 1.9 without looking totally messed up.

Hey man, just want to say right off the bat...
I LOVE THIS TEXTURE PACK!
Seriously, It's amazing. The right mixture of cartoony and a slight RPG feel.

Curse PremiumHere's a look at some GUI improvements:
Mostly just new cell styles and backgrounds.
@Jogma_Pi: Sounds interesting! You are welcome to use Triton as long as you link to it's website (which will be relocating soon).
What should I set to resize my hand? Blocks-in-hand take one quarter of my screen.
It is minecraft 1.9, and I use the v4 texture with the v5 preview.
