There are a few textures not shown here - recolors of the above, scaled-up original textures, and such. If I've missed something important, though, do let me know. I put a fair bit of effort into getting credits right, but perfect I ain't.
RE-USING STUFF IN THIS PACK
As you might have gathered from the name and sprite sheets, this pack is composed of open-source art. Which means you can use it as well; really, that's the point. I've tried to make it dirt-simple for others to grab and use this stuff properly. Here's the easy way to get all your credits and requirements right when using this stuff:
1. When you unzip the pack, look for the "Credits" folder right up at the top level. In it are copies of the same sprite sheets given here.
2. Copy it into your new pack. Remove any sheets that don't apply (if you're not using anything from them). If you want to be consistent, add a sheet for your owntextures, and put whatever notes are applicable on that sheet - If your stuff is sharable with attribution, or not for re-use, or whatever suits you.
3. Make sure you aren't claiming added restrictions to anything you changed that's share-alike. Make sure you're not making money if anything involved is non-commercial.
4. That's all.
...Of course, you can also check the terms of each texture used, and credit, link, etc in your OWN way. That's totally cool - the sheets are just a way to do it painlessly and quickly.
Happy crafting!
ER, DOES THIS COUNT AS A REMIX PACK BY BOARD RULES?
A fair number of the textures have been altered from the originals (and some very heavily so), a good number of original bits are included, and almost all the non-originals (excepting Doku) are from outside minecraft. So I don't THINK it's what the board rules mean by "remix". But if you think I'm wrong, go right ahead and report this post. Just, please, don't bother posting in-thread about it; I leave it to the moderation's judgement if it belongs here, and I'm not at all interested in the argument.
ER, DOES THIS COUNT AS A REMIX PACK BY BOARD RULES?
As far as I'm aware the rules are only picky about remixing textures without the permission from the people who made them. It seems you've done your homework and have everything arranged as far as licenses and permissions go, so I don't think you're going to have any problems.
As for the pack itself... it's not bad. There are definitely some spots where it's obvious that the textures weren't designed to work together, though. Mainly the items. Some items have pronounced outlines where others do not, and a few are pixilated where most are smoother and higher resolution.
The blocks, on the other hand, fit together fairly well. Although anyone really looking hard will still be able to tell that not everything works together perfectly. Even so, it's hardly an eyesore. It's obvious that you took a lot of time to find textures that worked fairly well together. Honestly, considering how many sources you cite, I'm really impressed by just how cohesive the blocks really are.
Congrats on having one of the very few totally legit mix packs on the forum. I'm genuinely impressed that you put this together in such a way that satisfies the terms and conditions of the contributing artists! Seriously, bravo! I hope that this stands for years to come as an example of how mix packs don't have to be theft packs too!

Absolutely. It's got a long way to go to be amazing!
To get the 1.0 version up and running, the aims were just "Decent enough to stand up and acts as a base to be improved on, and with ALL the proper credits and terms handled". And I feel like I've made that mark.

I think Ayene-Chan deserves at least as much credit on that front as I do. Her stuff is just plain stunning.

The whole "sprite sheet with credits and terms" idea, I think, is my single biggest contribution here. I'd love to see it make the rounds; I think it'd make credits on resharing so much better.
Might want to double check the items from 7SOUL1. I can guarantee some of them are edited versions of Maplestory icons.
Many of those icons have been re-plastered all over the internet, so their exact origin is impossible to tell, save from their originating games. They were already called out on most of the Maplestory edited icons, but there are still more in there, as well as items from Ragnorok.

....!
I'll need to look into that!
Or, possibly, just dump those for some other source - they are more black-line-cartoon than I'd like the end result pack to look like, really.
(Gah. I spend hours trying to find out if Doku used Dusty textures, only to learn it was Gerodoku, when I should have been looking harder at those. Whadda waste.)

Okay, so it looks decent. Now, let's talk open-source, attributions, rights. You're curious, right? Sure.
TEXTURES, CREDITS, ETC.
SOME LINKS:
Here's a link to Ayene-Chan on Deviantart (and her permission to use, obviously). GO THERE. She is super awesome and may send you hugs if you message her.
Aaaand, look, you know Doku, and that his 2.5 pack is free to use, right? Right.
For Lorc, look to Game-Icons.net. It is composed entirely of victory.
....

Curse PremiumWent over the items and started work on making them a unified set (though some are now basically sketches).
Winnowed down contributors to a much slimmer list (and removed 7Soul1's stuff - I couldn't figure for sure if it was duplicated or not).
GUI is now in progress (needs more work, and only halfway through the little icons, but it's in there), and I put together a font.
