So I'm pretty bad at threads and screenshots, but, uh, here goes.
This is an 8x texture pack, fully done up. Mostly faithful to the original? Except for the GUIs. Grey rectangles bluh.
Also, if anyone is good at showcasing or reviewing packs, I'd appreciate the help!
Here you go!
(That's the download link!)
Updoots 1.1 -
-Stained clay a bit more color trasted and some hue changes.
-Stained the border of where the ore appears in the stone of the ore blocks a bit more and changed up the appearance of gold diamond and emerald.
-Thickened the vines a little.
-Made the sea lantern more faithful; light barely visible animation with darker border
Update 1.2 -
-Custom models!Blocks adjusted to fit the half resolution:
Anvil
Iron Bars
Beacon
Brewing Stand *
Buttons
Cactus
Cake
Carpet *
Cauldron
Cocoa Beans
Cobblestone Walls
Dragon Egg
Fence and Fence Gate
Flower Pot
Lever
Glass Pane
Pressure Plate
Tripwire hook
Tripwire *
* - Also includes minor aesthetic changes
-Brewing stand - The drain tubes are arranged in a T shape instead of having two diagonal ones and also the cobblestone plates are closer to the stand when the stand when it's vacant and move out slightly when in use
-Carpet - Since pressure plates are 1 pixel tall, they're technically 2 pixels tall at full resolution and to avoid having a half pixel at half resolution, carpets are just flat now. Technically .1 pixels thick.
-Tripwire - Is much larger and more transparent
'
Update 1.2.1-
Models added:
Flat, curved and ramping rails, with additional model for the detector rail ('cuz it has the button in the middle)
Comparators and Repeaters
Torches
Dandelion and Poppy
Farmland
Gonna do more plants now!
1.2.2 -
Just some tidying up and also the lilac flower model.
1.2.3 -
Tweaked grass model
Added models for-
Fern
Blue Orchid
Lilypad
3 -
Oh geeze I'm so bad at documentation..
Rocks and pebbles, stalactites and holes in stone
3D ores
variant grass sides and snow
fix up grass some more and added tall grass
Daisy model
Leaf specialization between tree types and variation within those specialization
variant lilies
Tweaked a bunch of other stuff?
Papery flakey birch bark!
So its just a down-scaled version of the default? Granted it doesnt look like you JUST down-scaled it, but overall, it looks like an 8x version of the default with different GUIs.

More or less. When drawing it, I used less contrasted, more saturated colors. Also, most blocks use a four tone palette with some exceptions, being mostly blocks made of two or more really different materials like the ores, or GUI-accessing blocks...
and I guess technically some blocks and mobs are still the default resolution, just using double sized pixels.
In the next edition, I'm thinking of including a few custom mob and block models to get rid of the handful of half pixels like in the cactus, anvil, amoung others, and the chickens and wolves and such.
Edit: and I guess some items aren't exactly their originals? The pork chop is bacon, for examps. Can't think of too many others but I'm sure there's a few.
One flaw however, O and D look really similiar in your font, maybe delete the corner pixels in the D so that it would look more different?
Thanks! And oh, man, lemme tell you - this font is going to go through so many edits. It was literally the biggest challenge of this pack. Thanks for the critique, I'm gonna need all the help I can get with it.

Low res means low detail. They look about the same.
To me, 8x is too low res to really get much detail, so it looks more like one big blur. Anyhoo, just one person's opinion.

It looks quite nice to me. However, a fellow 8x artist is probably expected to think so, which is probably the same situation that Copper is in. That's a good thing though, I love it!

Working on some custom block models to snip up any instances of half pixels in any of the blocks. So far got cactus, cake, beacon, plates, buttons and trapdoors. Got stuck up on the tripwire hook model.. will release another version once I've got 'em all.
I'll.. I'll get it. e 3e
Edit2: Last thing to fix up is the iron bars models (unless someone find something) and then it'll be all done and I'll release for it tomorrow. Past this, barring fixes and new textures, I'll be doing custom models and alternative textures for the sake of aesthetics.

-Iron Bars - Got rid of edges
-Tripwire - Is much larger and more transparent
Edit (Classic): Also, cocoa beans. Whoops!
(New) Edit: Found some more models to align. Item frames, doors, comparators and repeaters incoming.
(Crystal) Edit: And they're out. Anyone who cares to point out anymore or to point out bugs or request anything, feel free.
Edit Zero: Whoops, forgot I did some mushroom models, too. Those are just for fun, though.
You did a decent job on this pack. It's nice to see an 8x8 texture pack that isn't just resized down from the original textures, as it makes it obvious you actually put some work into this pack and made sure it didn't just blend together like image editing programs do with downsizing (unless you change that, but almost everyone doesn't).
Also, halved dimensions mean 1/4 the amount of pixels.

Aw, thanks! I appreciate the, uh, appreciation!
Also, more custom models, whoo. Doing the basics first off, I guess!
The custom models look nice. This post was originally questioning how you were making the custom models, but then I remembered that particular feature was added a little while ago so I went back and edited it.
New torches and first satisfied attempt at the poppy
Edit: think I'll do all of the specialized rails and the ramping rails and then release these.
If no one watching this thread wants anything else in particular, I'll just be doing the flowers afterwards.

Very nice work. Often detail is left out of 8x8 packs, even when they aren't marketed as simple. I love the default-alike style of this pack while maintaining the pixelated cartoon of 8x8 packs.
The custom 3d models look great, except for the one (blue orchid) just posted. For some reason the blocks of the flower seem disjointed - perhaps you could fix that by adding a few more blocks.
Very nice start. Good luck!

I have discovered a truly remarkable proof of this, which this margin is too small to contain.

Tried to post an imgurgallery and it frumped. Did it manually this time!

Can't quite call 'em randomobs since it's not compatible with the snapshots but they can be alternative downloads, I guess.
