I have the newest optifine ultra for minecraft 1.8.9 installed but this pack is not doing anything. Lighting is set to moody with smooth lighting on max.
Make sure you set Quality -> Custom Colors -> ON, otherwise it won't work. Also, put it on top of your resource packs or it could be "overwrited" by other packs' light maps.

It should work, I have no idea why it doesn't. Care to post a few screenshots of your video options and also 2 pics taken in game, one at day and one at night, with trees and torches?
I wish I would but it's impossible because the game can only display one single color for any source of artificial light; if I made it blue, even torches, redstone and such would make a blue light.
Yes, I agree. I do reckon that Minecraft should do something about it.
Every time I open Minecraft, it's set on off. I didn't know that, so I don't check

Sorry if I wasted any of your time trying to figure it out! :L
Looks gorgeous! I love the hue and colors of the shadows
Don't worry, it happens. By the way you shouldn't post twice in a row, it's against the rules: just edit your previous post.
Glad you like my pack and yes, I agree, it does look bad in a pseudo-modern environment. You might want to give a try to the Light version, it still uses the realistic shading but doesn't change the color of light or other effect, such as night vision.
I was wondering for the future updates, can it be possible to make the parts where the sun is shining, a little bit brighter (but not overbright like some shaders are), sunny? I mean like just a bit, not too much, just to make it even more pronounced.
I'm afraid it's impossible. The only way to make it brighter is to reduce its color and make it white, but that would destroy that sunny day feel and basically turn it into vanilla lighting (with better shadows).
Thanks, pal. I sugget giving a try to the new Optifine feature that makes torches emit light when in hand, exploring caves gets really spooky with realistic-ish torch light.
I need some details: did you install Opfitine? Is "custom colors" option on? Is your brightness level set to 30% or lower? Is PRL pack on top of other packs in the resource pack menu?
Because it works for me, even in 1.10.2, you're likely doing something wrong.

I had all of that set up correctly yet it didn't work. However, last night it RANDOMLY started working without me changing anything. It may have just been Minecraft being dumb I suppose.
Sorry, you can't. The flickering is part of the "torch" lightmap, which is also part of the general lightmap for that dimension, so changing any little detail requires to edit the whole thing.
This pack is meant to be realistic and lights from fire do flicker a lot. Modern lights don't, though, so I could "fork" the Light version and create a new one with white lights that don't flicker at all.

Awesome, turning on custom colors worked. Thanks.
Help! I would love to use this in my YouTube videos, but I cannot seem to get it to work!
Yes, I have turned custom colors on.
I downloaded the 'PR_Luminance_V1.1.zip' file from this thread and extracted it, open the extracted file, went into Alternatives, dragged the
'PR Luminance - Full.zip' into my 'resourcepacks' folder.
What did I do wrong?
Nothing, apparently, but I need more infos:
Make sure the above is correct and then report back.
Thanks for the reply, Wedhro.
I have the latest version of OptiFine (Ultra H3).
Yes, the PR Luminance resource pack is on top of the right panel.
And I have my brightness set on Moody.
Cheers.

How anymore stupid can I get?
I realized I had Custom Colors set to Off.

It just looks too bland:

Heya I love this pack, whenever I'm mining in the lower caverns it always puts the perfect atmosphere.

It does not seem to be working (for me at least) in 1.9 and later. I tried all the versions.

cant find the Full verson download, can someone send me a link please?
It's not a different download, all alternative versions are placed inside the main (and only) pack.
Done.
It's just a warning, confirm you want to use it anyway and it will work.
BTW this reminds me I need to upload new versions that give no warnings when used with 1.10 and 1.11.
