OK, stop. What is the look you're trying to go for? What's your artistic vision? Making default look less detailed isn't an artistic vision... or at the very least isn't your artistic vision since it's been done so many times before.
If you have an idea for how you want Minecraft to look, first of all look around to see if it's been done before. If it hasn't, then go with it! A few ideas does not a resource pack make. Spitballing a feature or two isn't going to make anyone happy. I don't care what color the grass is... I care if the pack itself looks interesting and unique.

Some of us are trying to help you by getting you to see what you've done wrong in hopes that you'll be interested in learning how to improve it. And yea, a couple people have just been jerks.
May I suggest reading the All-Inclusive Guide to Texturing, and in particular the tutorials for shading that it links to? You might also benefit from reading Understanding Simplicity and Minimalism. I have more if you care to read them, but these should get you started.
