Hello all! I have returned to work on a pack. This time it is 256 x 256 and I decided to take a more realistic approach. Now I am having trouble with the glowstone texture, I have the shape and color the way I want it. The problem is, is that it needs more depth, like it needs more colors to be darker and lighter. I am using the program gimp and do not know how to achieve this without butchering my image. Any suggestions. Thanks in advance.
A simple solution would be to play with the brightness and contrast levels. I think it's under Image > Brightness/contrast
Yeah thats what I want, but I want it on like individual pieces not the whole thing. To give you a better picture of what I'm talking about, if you look at the original glowstone texture some of the parts are lighter than others. There like points of lights.
Oh, I see. Well in that case, you could make a new layer overtop and set it to "overlay" then paint on some highlights using a soft brush tool that's white in colour.

Thanks for the suggestion! I lightened up some of the points, but I really couldn't do much for darkening it.Alright, can someone please help me out with lava/water animation and mob skins. I don't even know where to begin.
