Hello, forum members/viewers. At first I was apprehensive to post this due to the massive infrastructure this forum is, but I've gotten over that and have a texture pack for you. The name of this pack is 'Solidify' and was inspired in part by a cube world based texturepack I saw on the forums a while back, and partly by disco's OCD pack. This is fully compatable with minecraft 1.7, please tell me if I missed any textures. (No items have been done yet, but all the blocks and mobs should be.)
I am going to tell you what I tell other bucketfill packs here, and believe me there are a lot of them: Read the tutorials here and practice. You say you were inspired by Disco's OCD pack, but your pack, unlike his, has zero shading.
Posted is your Grass_Side block shown with OCD's Grass_Side block.
As you can see, Disco used more than a single colour in the block, and he used them to shade his block, giving depth to it which makes a world of difference. Bucket fills just look... flat and ironically, not very solid.
Now I am not a heartless person, well not since last Christmas when my heart grew three sizes, so I am going to give some positives on your pack. I like the grass colour scheme, +1 for not using minecraft's green. I also enjoy the no ad.fly, that shows that you are actually interested in making a quality pack, not easy money.
I advice you to look at the other resource packs here and try to imitate (not copy) what they did. There are tutorials in the Resource Pack Discussion page also if you need them.
Wow three packs like these in a row.. type to copy and paste what I posted in the last topic!
We see this exact same thing several times a day. (SimpleCraft just got posted too, and guess what? Exact same thing as this pack minus colors chosen! We also haveThe Original Limelife Texture Pack as well, that just posted... again.. the exact same thing!)
They have become nothing more then SPAM on these forums, even PMC has started removing them for the same reason. There use to be 16k+ floating on that site, now it's down to around 5k. Please don't add to the count.
Myth:Making a simple bucket-fill pack is OK for your first texture pack.
This is only partially false. Making a simple pack is a good way to familiarize yourself with how minecraft textures work and were they are place. However, unless it is amazing or you want feedback on how to make it better, don't bother posting it.
This will not only annoy everyone, you will also receive a large amount of borderline flame posts from the community. Simple bucket-fill packs have been done to death. When you make a pack it is best to try to do something that hasn't been done before. Either an idea that had been attempted but not well, or something completely revolutionary.
Myth:Making a simple pack is easy.
This is one of the most common misconceptions I run across. It also can't be more wrong. Making a good simple pack that will not get you laughed out of the community is probably one of the most difficult things to do. Examples like Doll House and Puffy lines are a paragon of what a simple pack SHOULD be. However, if you find yourself wanting to name your thread Simplepack. RUN AWAY!
Myth: Bucket fill texture packs reduce lag.
The only way bucket fill texture packs would reduce lag would be if the pack was ACTUALLY 1x1 Just bucket-filling the textures won't do a thing if the pack is the default res. Would CryEngine2 be able to run on an old netbook if the textures were all one color? You would probably think that's preposterous. Well, it doesn't. And guess what? Minecraft works the same way! Minecraft still has to load all the pixels the texture uses, it don’t matter if those pixels are one solid color, or the most detailed thing in the world. They still hold the same amount of pixels, and thus will produce the same amount of lag.
Bucket Fill Packs Other names include: simple pack, smooth pack, cartoony pack, flat pack, OCD pack, etc.
If you were going to make a resource pack that is just 1-2 colors smudged across the entire texture, stop right now. These take no effort to make and are often accompanied by an adf.ly link, which is why these are generally disliked by the MCF community. These kind of packs are usually done in MS Paint with the bucket fill tool, which is where the name "bucket fill pack" comes from. Clarification: A bucket fill pack is not "smooth" or "simple" in any way. For a true representation of a simple/smooth pack, feel free to check out Steelfeathers's Dandelion or Plenty_of_fish's Nemo.
I see what you are saying, and will (most likely) make changes accordingly. I hate ad.fly as much as the next person, and it actually didn't even cross my mind to use one. The grass color scheme I plan on tweaking some, not quite to my liking.
In response to Taiine:
Your first myth: this is actually not my first texturepack. I've made one before, but lost it at some point.
Your second myth: I agree completely. It is a pain to get 'good' mob textures the way I am currently building this pack.
Your third myth: I did not even dream that this would cause less lag, I simply enjoy the looks of it.
Other Comments:
I have actually not seen a solid-block texture pack before, sorry for the repeat. I am going to do some tweaking to the textures, and I actually plan on (no promises) editing the default music/sounds. Thank you for the input so far, I look forward to more.
All the myths and such are from the link I posted 'a word about texture packs' gives you an idea just how often we get flooded with these.
It's good that you wish to improve! We get so many people that don't want to listen or take any for mof feedback as a 'OMG YOUR HATING ON MEEE WAHHH' nonsense.
It's a breath of fresh air to see someone wanting to improve!

- Some basic things to consider before you start making your resource pack
- UNDERSTANDING SIMPLICITY/MINIMALISM

Heres some links to help get you started!
That out of the way. The reason none of the packs are up to date, is because the mods usual delete them because of all the spam/hate they get.
