Just a tip since your gonna ctm things you might want to do custom organic things like flowers and tall grass it might look nice to have some differences.
Whole lode of updates today! Download here or in the OP
No in-game shots for the coal block, sadly. I'm having trouble with the dev launcher, so I haven't played any snapshots.
Since I thought my coal block looked too much like obsidian, I redid the obsidian and moved the old obsidian to the bedrock.
The new obsidian is supposed to give off the broken glass feel that real obsidian has, albeit with less shiny-ness.
Enchanting table, with book! A product of the Weekly Texture Challenge.
Furnace, with the lit furnace being animated.
And of course, since I did the furnace, I had to do fire! It was a pain in the butt, let me tell you.
The gif is kinda messed up, but you get the point!
And I made an iron sword. Other iron tools to follow!
@blue_dragon, I fixed the reeds! Turns out I had one of the tiles named "4.png," for some reason.
@hoodoo, thanks! There is one place on the stone bricks where the is a crack, but there really shouldn't be. I assume that's what you're talking about. I think the random CTM breaks that up, but I would like to get rid of it entirely. Thanks for pointing it out!
Not long now, and we'll be ready for a full release! WOO!
EDIT: Herp derp, forgot to update the text file when I was restitching. Whoops!
love the enchanting table, the wood is awesome. The fire is great; now I can appreciate this work, I see the rage it has been to make it .
The lapis block don't make me think about lapis, but I like how it seems cartoonish, or a child drawing style (at last, it's a very good texture).
Thanks! Yeah, the fire is a pain. I'm still working on it, actually. The colors weren't right.
The lapis was just make like that because I was stuck on ideas. I'd already used all the good designs I could think of, and I didn't want to repeat myself, but I think it looks alright.
There are no new textures, but I did add some crummy sounds. Among them are zombie vocalizations and bow firing sounds. Feel free to delete them from the file if you hate them, I understand. You can hear my ceiling fan in the background in most of them, but what can I say? I'm not a sound artist.
EDIT: So I took the sounds out. As it turns out, they were very annoying.
Added new oak planks (and made the CTM on the birch planks actually look nice).
But you won't be able to use it until MCPatcher updates. Sorry :/
Added unique jungle planks.
(Ignore the screwed up birch stairs)
These you can actually use!
Added log tops, individualized by the log types.
New redstone torch! A vast improvement over the last one, this one actually resembles the regular torch somewhat.
Added a dispenser and dropper. Dispenser is supposed to be some sort of tentacle-haired sea god or something, I don't know. It looks cool, though! The dropper is just a boring old item spitter.
Added a skeleton. He's scurry looking!
And last but not least, I have finished the Iron tools!
The next update should have something to do with quartz, which I am sick of seeing with the vanilla textures all around it. Not many blocks left, so we should be seeing a full release sometime soon!
Fantastic update Sam, you really have been putting some hours in recently......new Skelly its so cooool love the detail on the bones
Blocks are looking very consistent with the style which is always tough in HD.
Drop/dispenser are funky too
Something you can try on the bindings on your tools is to darken a little where they wrap around it will give the illusion of them going round the backs of the tools and not sitting on the top.........you can look at the bindings on my tools for ref

Well done mate keep it up
Thanks! It's really good to hear that the style is still consistent, as that's something that's been worrying me lately.
I'll definitely do something like that with the tools. I don't know why I didn't do it in the first place, but I'll make sure it gets done!
No new textures to add yet, but I've been working on something else. Here's some of those block showcase things you might have seen me posting a tutorial about.
More to come, of course. They take a while to make, since they're a little too high-res for my computer to handle. They should be added to the OP in place of screenshots once I have a few more of them done.

Curse PremiumDownload will have to be Dropbox for now, since Curse is being all picky about their stuff. Once they allow resource packs, I'll have it up there.

Curse PremiumI can definitely see that. I was going more for a "shard of flint on a stick" kind of look, though it worked out better on some than on others.
The color of the stone axe is still off. It's driving me nuts.

The fancy 3D block showcase images should be added to the OP soon, I've got a few more to make.
