I haven't downloaded the patch yet because i can't right now, Congrats! nicely done anyways, but, what if misa returns?
Thanks Darckray! I'm in the process right now of doing the connected textures for the stained glass (tweaking colors on 752 individual textures is as labor intensive as it sounds (yes, 752 ... 47 textures for each of the 16 colors)). I'm trying to get a nice balance between transparency and color saturation which will probably end up not totally satisfying everyone. However, this forum gives great and polite feedback so I look forward to continuing to tweak things for Misa's fans (like myself).
As far as "what if Misa returns?"
Well, it's her pack and I love it and if she shows up and updates her own stuff to 1.7 I will happily download it and use it because I have always loved and appreciated her stuff. I *have* sent her a private message essentially stating that she is welcome to ask me to 1) cease and desist or 2) pick up the torch and carry on in her stead. She's yet to reply to me. I've also offered for her to have all or some of my work if she wants to use it for her pack.
All I know is that she has helped define the look and feel of Minecraft for me and all the work I've done is mainly for my own desire to fill in the blanks while she takes care of whatever it is she takes care of. I don't know how serious or not what she is dealing with is but if my patch continues to point users to her ad.fly link to help her financially and if my patch alleviates, even a little, any stress she might feel about needing to satisfy her fans ... then it is work and time I'm happy to spend.
I just got finished my degree in a game design program (focus on 3d Animation but it covered all the basics) ... so I'm rather enjoying doing some "real work" on a game. It's teaching me a lot about listening to feedback and turning around and delivering to a fanbase (even if it isn't my own). I'm learning, I'm getting to create for awesome Minecraft players, and I'm helping another artist in a rough patch. It's, I hope, a win/win/win situation for everyone.
I've even begun work on my own full Resource Pack which I hope to roll out in a couple months, so this will give me nice exposure as I prep for that.
Again, thanks to everyone for their comments, feedback and support.
I'm hoping to have another update this coming weekend with CTM support for Dark Oak (including improved texture), Acacia, Podzol, and Stained Glass (!).
EDIT: At this time I will not be uploading the CTM files. A better Dark Oak texture (with more contrast) will go in but technically I'm not supposed to modify anything from Misa's mcpatcher folder so the stained glass and other connected textrues will have to stay on my hard drive. Until I hear back from her I will be respecting the instructions in her legal documentation.
I have CTM files to coincide with Misa's, derived from her files, but since I respect her copyright I will not be releasing them to the public until I hear from her. Thank you though.
looks like pscof got some more work to do! i am waiting to see what will you do with the new blocks! about the slime block though... i think it should look like a misa's lime without eyes or mouth well done!

Yeah. The new stones should be fairly straight forward. I'm gonna try not to derive anything directly from Misa's work so I can do connected textures.
The slime textures Misa's did are in her Mcpatcher folder which she reserves copyright on so I will have to do something from scratch on that front.

about the slime, then, try to make it while using a vanilla 64x64 template, about the new stone blocks, they quite look all the same, so i can only ask you to make them realistic, and, pscof, i will ask this to you because misa wasn't able to answer, could you make textures for the zombie and skeleton horses, and the green villager too?
Okay, I uploaded the update with the retooled Dark Oak Texture so it doesn't look like a flat bar of chocolate.
I did a LOT of work on connected textures for several blocks before I realized that I can't upload it because of Misa's licensing permissions. So that will have to wait until I either make some from scratch or Misa writes me back giving me permission.
Also, I hadn't seen that those textures (undead horses & default villager) hadn't been done. I'll take a look at what I can do.

they aren't, i asked her before the /summon command came out, and, because of that, she told me that because that is subject to change (of course) she didn't want to make textures for them, and, i have one more request, the skeleton horse, could you make a cameo texture that looks like this?
if you can't see the picture, he is arvak, from skyrim, google skyrim arvak if you want to see it better
he could be a cameo or a biome specific texture mob, like the end, oh god, this has a lot of possibilities! i'm thinking about a flame skeletal horse in the nether! (sorry for asking for such a difficult thing to do, but i couldn't ask misa before she went missing)
Thanks for all your work so far pscof, i like it, keep it like that and one day you will be famous!
you don't have to make the horses from scratch, neither the villager, they are inside assets\minecraft\textures\entity
as far as i know, you can't use or redistribute any of the Mcpatcher folder, but you can use her textures as templates, as long as they aren't inside the mcpatcher folder, am i wrong?
Yeah. I saw that. She's got the alternate skins in mcpatcher but the base skins are in the regular folders. My main debate is whether to spend the time working on some thing that doesn't naturally spawn in the game. I suspect that was a similar decision on her part. I think my official stance on this will be: if I have time.
Texturing a square block is one thing. Skinning a mob (or three) is a whole other ball of glue.
I just spent a lot of time working on connected textures I can't even share with the community, so I'm probably not going to work on anything again until 1.8 unless it's "mission critical."
Humble request: Can you please incrementally number your patches? I like to keep old versions of things just in case I need to revert and having everything called MisasPatch.zip might get confusing for all of us if you end up doing this for a while.

many map makers use those, i would be really REALLY grateful if you could make those, at least for me, i really use those mobs, and, they just don't look good, you can make them rideable, by the way.
I can see your point. I was planning to do a connected texture with it as well, perhaps I will see about retooling it again.

And im sure Misa would approve

Upping the resolution? The new blocks are 64x64 just like Misa's ... Not sure what you are referring to.
