Hello Everybody, so recently I posted a Resource Pack I made on Planet Minecraft. It's been completed, but I wanted to add mod support but PMC only allows maximum 10MB files. So I thought I'd post Download links to all the mods i have mod support for here. If you want to check out the texture pack Follow this link, http://www.mediafire...source Pack.zip
Oh god not another flat colored bucket filled pack. Come on people there are well over 12,000 packs EXACTLY LIKE THIS floating around.
Enough is enough!
This resource pack is "Cube World Themed" That means it's themed to look like Cube World. What you call "flat colored bucket filled" is the theme Cube World uses. This pack goes well in to detail, more so than any other Cube World themed packs I've seen. Please be less ignorant the next time you bash on someones resource pack. Heres the link to the Planet Minecraft post http://www.planetminecraft.com/texture_pack/cube-world-themed-texture-pack/ featuring more screenshots showing just how much work has gone in to this pack.
And there have been packs just like this long LONG before 'cubeworld'.
It's a bucket filled pack.. flat color.. work? more like 5 minutes of work. Really sense minecraft first came out we have had these kinds of packs floating around. The first 'simple pack' was this exact same thing, just a change in colors used.
I'm not ignorant, just sick of people going 'OMG IT'S BASED OFF CUBEWORLD' to try and excuse a freaking BUCKET FILLED PACK.
By the way, there are already 100's of so called 'cubeworld' packs.. and most have been deleted from here, AND from PMC as they are seen as SPAM.
It's a disgrace to people who truly do sit down and put a lot of time and effort into their work and here come bucket filled packs getting downloads because 'OMG CUBEWORLD' when it is just more flat colored nonsense like we have been seeing sense the first day people found out about overwriting the default graphics in freaking INDEV.

I'm sure more work has been put in to many many other packs. I understand there are crappy packs out there that were made for the hell of it. BUT this pack was not made to be detailed.
It was made to imitate Cube World and it does so pretty damn well. Better so than any other pack I can find. I'm not trying to be rude calling you out but I'M sick of people trying to group someone's texture pack in with "12,000 packs EXACTLY LIKE THIS" Just because they're going with a style that doesn't require a ton of work.
I'M sick of people who will bash on someone's first texture pack that really does what it's supposed to, does it well, and has PLENTY different than other packs that attempt to do the same.
I'm glad that the ones that didn't have a dedicated artist or the desire to put some actual work have perished. Because that means that maybe people won't group this texture pack in with the rest of them.
Your argument could be compared to saying "Since the Mona Lisa is such a beatuiful painting, Anything that Pablo Picasso has painted is a disgrace to art".
But that wouldn't be true now would it? He had a specific style he was aiming after. He achieved it. It didn't take nearly as long as many other paintings, but he spent his time and effort making them and they are good. This person set out to make a Cube World resource pack after buying the game. They spent time and effort, and achieved the best Cube World themed resource pack I can find. They themed the blocks, the items, the GUI, the armor, the paintings, the particles, the mobs. It's been updated more than once with new blocks. This resource pack has recieved the time and effort of an individual, more than most of your so called "flat colored bucket filled pack" They have done a good job.
They haven't done anything yet to be praised as an amazing texture pack artist yet, but they more than deserve to not be grouped in with the "well over 12,000 packs EXACTLY LIKE THIS"
at least the people there are greatful for finding the art style they were looking for and recognize the time and effort that was put in to it by the artist and are gracious enough to be thankful instead of discriminating against his pack.
I'll just say this as being part of PMC don't mean squot. There getting it for the name and the name alone. "OMG CUBE WORLD YAY!" If it had gone by any other name it would fall under the same as all the other bucket filled packs out there.
That there tells you how it really is.
Remove the name. Thats why people are downloading a bucket filled pack. Because it is 'based off a popular game'. If it wasn't for that and how plegued PMC is with scanning bots and counting every click from the same person it would have been caught by PMC's spam filter and removed.
Grateful for finding it? So all the other bucket filled packs out there that are... just like this... that don't call themselvs cube world based are not as good? That alone should tell you that it's the name they are drawn to. It's no diff then the old pokemon pack that use to be floating around, it was flat colored too with a few 'custom' stuff like pokeball rugs that too were flat colored, but OMG POKEMON MUST HAVE. Theres one on PMC right now with nearly 5k downloads, and the only thing it does is add's a pokeball to the BED.
Most bucket filled packs have less then 200 downloads, most of those coming from spam clickers and bots that scan the site dling everything to publish packs on their websites.
What about 'simple craft', thats a pack that well, is idenical to this aside color... it's pretty much ignored. Has a few dl's but thats it, no comments and is just.. sitting there. But here we have CUBE WORLD OMG ITS BASED OFF A COOL GAME MUST HAVE.
Or 'simpily simple" another pack that is idenical to this.. 20 some dl's.. no comments.. no nada... been there for a year. It's even updated!
but OMG CUBE WORLD CANT DL FAST ENOUGH.
See where this is going?
Also your argument about the mona lisa is bullocs. Why? Because Picasso put work and time into all his works. Not everyone can put off such art. However this, this anyone can do in a few minutes with out any skill or thought put into it aside 'what color should I bucket fill this one with'.
It wouldn't be much dff then having a baby slap finger paints onto paper and start selling them because 'AWW IT'S A BABY PAINTING HOW CUTE'.
Or those stupid 'painting pig'... oh joy you tought a pig to rub a brush against paper... anyone can do that.. yet there you are profiting off something well.. any baby could do.
I've worked as a graphic designer for nearly 15 years now. This same thing is seen in the real world as well. Fan's of one thing will flock to anything that is based off that one thing even if it is out right trash. You see it in video games as well. Just look how broke Batman Arkham Origins was, riddled with bugs and glitches and screwups that were well documented and showcased with missions that were impossible to finish rooms that auto saved then would trap you inside forcing a full restart of the game.. but YAY BATMAN MUST HAVE.
It's all in the name and the advertisement. Thats how a 'pokemon texture pack' that only edits the bed can have over 4k downloads, and a 'simple pack' can have just 20 after a year. Or how a 'bucket filled pack' going by cubeworld can be such a 'hit'.
But in the end it don't change what it is, it's just pulling in suckers who cant look past the title.

First of all, This makes no sense whatsoever
"Also your argument about the mona lisa is bullocs. Why? Because Picasso put work and time into all his works. Not everyone can put off such art. However this, this anyone can do in a few minutes with out any skill or thought put into it aside 'what color should I bucket fill this one with'."
That was my argument.. That he put work and time in to it. It has far less skill, he's a beginner. But everyone has to start somewhere and when he did, he did it well. He obviously put thought in to the color. He follows a theme like Picasso did, it doesn't matter what tool he uses. As long as it matches with his vision, in this case, Cube world.
People use it because people want Minecraft to look like Cube World. People use every other pack because they want Minecraft to look like the screenshots.
Resource packs have themes, futuristic, vanilla, modern. Cube World is just another theme. He spent time and work on a a resource pack that follows that theme. Just like any other resource pack.
Not every resource pack is extremely detailed and that's not what makes them good. What makes them good is how well they follow the theme.
This pack is simplistic. Get over it.
This pack is not a rip-off or a copy. Get over it.
This theme is GOOD even when it took less work than other themes. GET OVER IT.
You can have your own opinion of this pack, I couldn't care less.
But what you need to know, is that the fact is, this pack is not like 12,000 other pack.
This pack is unique and different than every other.
People download packs for many different reasons, I've downloaded a few just because of the auther, just because it supports a mod, just because it follows a certain theme. Otherwise I never would have downloaded them.
Some of them I enjoyed, some of them I didn't. It's not wrong to download a pack because of a name or a theme.
People do that, people use things, try things, buy things, without looking at the details.
But at the end of the day, as long as the Author put work in to their pack, cared how it looked, and strived to make it better. Then it deserves to not be grouped in with all the other "12,000 packs EXACTLY LIKE THIS"
I agree that people make stupid choices based on names and first glances.
But the one thing I need you to know. Is that it doesn't automatically make the Author bad.
He hasn't done an amazing job, yet. But he's done a good job so far, I appreciate it and I enjoy using it.
Yet in the end, if it only had gone by another name it wouldn't be nearly as popular as it is.
But then you're what we call a fan boy. Defending something even if it's not worth it. Really if you had come across this same pack and it had been called something other then cubeworld, would you have bothered with it?
I can already answer that for you, because if you haven;'t bothered with any of the other many bucket filled packs out there then you wouldn't have bothered with this one.
This isn't a theme, cubeworld isn't a theme. It's just a flat colored pack like the many MANY before it, before cubeworld came into existence. It's just using the name to draw people in. That's all it has to it is a name. With out that it would go ignored like most 'simple' packs out there. Many of us in the texture artist union worried when cube world first poped up that 'oh god here comes more bucket filled packs, only this time there going to call themselvs cubeworld'
...yep... thats exactly what happened.
Do you really think a 'pokemon' themed pack that only add's a pokeball to the bed would get downloads if the bed had just been changed to rainbows or some plad pattern? No, no it wouldn't. It's because it's 'pokemon'.
Tell me the difference between two flat colored packs that only have the blocks done, eye dropped the color of the default blocks so the colors are pretty much the same, why one would be at 5k downloads and the other just in the 20 some downloads, when the 20's one is 'up to date' with all blocks ready for the snapshot, been up over a year, yet the 5k one has been up for 4 months and hasn't been updated?
Wait, because the 5k one is called a 'pokemon pack'.
Upload this pack to PMC, or to here, and don't say a single word about cubeworld. Play it off as just another normal pack.. and I bet you it wont do any where near as well, be flagged as spam, and deleted.
It's funny, if you do a search for flat colored packs, how the only ones with high downloads are all based off something popular.
So tell me, if you want to defend this so hard, why are you not defending every other bucket filled pack out there that looks exactly like this aside what color was picked to flat color it?
Or even the other so called 'cube world' packs? http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/2135452-172-berhohs-cube-world-resource-pack/
Wow, I think they did all the work for you already.

Wow, I think they did all the work for you already.
I don't care if it's popular, that's not what this is about.
I've never even played cube world, but this person spent time and work on this pack, they responded to suggestions, they took in people's input, they have the right not to be told that they're bad for making such a simple pack as their first and you should be ashamed to shaming someone for trying.
Of course cube world is a theme any damn thing is a theme. You could make a popcorn themed pack. BUT THAT'S YOUR CHOICE. This isn't a fricken attempt to get a billion download's , this is someones first pack that they actually work on and care about.
And so? I run a resource pack over vanilla that I've custom made that only changes a few blocks. As long as someone likes a change then why not do it? I already told you this isn't about downloads so stop trying to make it about them.
IT'S NOT ABOUT THE DOWNLOADS GUY XD besides, that's because they made it with pokemon in mind so they named it accordingly.
and yes, I would happily defend that pack as well. The author seems a little... less caring... but he made his first minecraft texture pack, themed after something simple, he spend the time and work to theme just about everything, GUI. armor, mobs, paintings, blocks, and there is only ONE post. There is only one post telling that boy that he did a good job for all of that work. That's becuase their are too many people like you who fricken bash on newbie's packs because they're simple. They knew they were getting into a simple texture pack, so they thought, oh well I might as well theme it after cube world, and as long as they actually tried to make it match that theme, then they did a GOOD JOB.
Cube World theme? Please. Its a thoughtless bucket fill. Its not "cube themed" because the whole damn game is cube themed. Flat, detailess textures only work when done in conjunction of other texturing methods to help define things in different ways, like cell shading, ambient occlusion, and dynamic shadows.
This pack is just flat, dull, and uninspired. The theme is the theme of the game, so really, there is no theme.
First pack or 100th pack, seeing a pack like this just screams lazy effort as it literally can be made in a day. I'm not saying spending weeks or years on a pack make it better, but you can't make a quality pack of any theme in just a day. People are generally against these types of packs because they take no effort, they show no signs of imagination, and just seem more like a joke than anything.
They are all-in-all an eyesore because its impossible to tell what things are 99.9% of the time. IE, dirt and wood planks look the same. What are those gray blocks in the building? Its would just be more of a frustration than anything to even use such a pack.

This looks fine with me guys don't care how many there are and what it really is just I like it so you can stop Âing that's all that need to be said its just fine.

Now you give off a much worse argument than the last guy.
Firstly, 1. It's cube WORLD themed, not cube themed, that would be any pack ever made for minecraft xD
2. Flat detailess textures is what Cube World uses. So YEAH xD
3. First I must ask if English is your second language. But then I'll add that this pack themes Minecraft to look like Cube World and follows the Cube World look to the author's best ability, so YEAH it is a theme xD
4. There isn't any imagination because it's an easy port, theme a voxel game after another voxel game, doesn't mean the author must be yelled at for making an easier theme for his first theme. Plus he's taking suggestions, replying to comments, theming just about any thing he can find, He's working and showing effort, I'm just saying he shouldn't be shunned for it.
5. In response to the last paragraph, that's the Cube World theme xD he faces limitations because most regular block sizes are only for landscape.
Well don't I feel like a fool. I was confused and didn't think about the game, Cube World. Nowhere was it stated that this was themed after that game, so it was assumed the pack was just themed after a cube world concept.
As a themed pack off the game, Cube World, yes it does its job. As a minecraft texturepack, I think it looks terrible. Which also extends to Cube World itself, I think the flat textures look terrible there too. The main difference is Cube World has a superior lighting engine, so the blocks are at least defined to an extend which is not seen here, also they use more blocks to allow for more detail, which minecraft does not. Minecraft uses its pixels for detail, and by removing that, all you are left with is a flat looking oversized block.

Well.. The title is "Cube World Themed Resource Pack" but other than that xD
But yeah that's your opinion and I agree
The reason for the arguements is because people are telling this guy he's horrible for making it when,
1. He follows the theme
2. He works hard
3. This is his first pack &
4. He doesn't know how to do fancy MCPatcher things considering this is his first theme
I just don't want people who are noobish to lose interest after being yelled at for trying. We all have to start somewhere.
I think it's pretty clear that making a block have a single colour in it is way easy.
On another note, he's not being yelled at. The only reason this whole lotta of argumentation exists is because you and some other guy had mixed opinions. Still, I must say, doing a pack that's "Cube World themed" is okay, but it's a fact, that this pack is a bucket-fill, and thus not a lot of hard work. The title isn't misleading though, so no-one should judge the creator for saying that.
Check out his post on PM. He's themed about everything in the game, He's actively taking suggestions and commenting on people's opinions, He's made it mod compatible with multiple mods along with add-ons for them.
My point is that he's done a heck of more work than "Bucket Fill" pack. I just ask that it's called for what it is, Cube World themed. I want people to know the difference between those and this. Sure most of the blocks are bucket filled but theres more to packs than that plus that term has gotten a horrible reputation and I don't want people making assumptions on artists because of it :/

I think if the OP had something stating that it was based on a particular game and the flat textures was part of the theme, then it would be understandable. As it is there's no indication the pack is based on another game and we are give a few pictures of a few things, so it just looks like a lazy bucket fill.
Now that I've realized its based on a game, I can understand its intent better. Still don't like it at all, but I understand it. I don't use Planet Minecraft at all, so anything that takes place there I know nothing about.

To all those raging about this thing being bucket-fill, its supposed to be like that its to ease strain on the eyes and more or less, and for people with computers with bad performance can make use of this for less lag, i tried and i played with max graphics with render distance at far yet with 50 fps, so stop hating, besides its his first texture/resource pack, stop hating.

Retired StaffBut then you're what we call a fan boy.
I don't care if it's popular, that's not what this is about.
I've never even played cube world, but this person spent time and work on this pack, they responded to suggestions, they took in people's input, they have the right not to be told that they're bad for making such a simple pack as their first and you should be ashamed to shaming someone for trying.
Of course cube world is a theme

We all have to start somewhere.
http://www.planetminecraft.com/texture_pack/cube-world-themed-texture-pack/
