this is no kidding not one single bit of kid!( that sounds bad) my favorite texture pack I HAVE EVER SEEN! i am going to use this texture pack for my whole minecraft life!!
lol, I understood that perfectly! I can usually tell if people like my stuff based on the number of exclamation points they use, regardless of the language the comment is written in.
The podzol looks fine to me. I think it goes well with the grass and gravel alongside the foliage. Perhaps a few dots of green might help enhance it more?
I like what you did with the quartz as well, the second one with more beige tones.
About the stained clay, I appreciate your efforts very much but it must be my personal problem because it uses the same texture as the grass. Then my brain starts wondering why there is grass texture coloured in strange colours. Maybe you could just smoothen out some of the lines so it resembles dried mud with slight cracks? The colours are very vibrant and beautiful as they are.
Just my own opinion, you're free to take it or leave it!
Woah woah woah, the stained clay does NOT use the same texture as grass, that I can guarantee. No grass texture reuse going on, I promise.
EDIT: Ah f***. Now you got me seeing the grass comparison too.
The latest update is looking wonderful so far. As for my previous comment on the clays, I think they look alright as they are. I'm sorry to have worried you about it. I can't wait for the rest of this pack to be done, it's already on the top pile of my favourites! Can't get enough of the rich, delicious colours. They work seamlessly together without giving a massive visual headache and that is quite important if playing the game for hours on end.
If you're tired of texturing the blocks, I'd sure love to see some of the items if you have the time.
Meanwhile, I am here to report that the water texture on my game doesn't seem to be animated. Has anyone else had this problem or is it just for my game? Thank you.
P.S. You know what, I would really love to wear a T-shirt with some of the blocks from this texturepack. Especially a really stylish, awesome LADIES' T-shirt, because there is so little awesome swag for female gamers out there...like me...and you. Haha.
Whew, good to know the clays are working out alright. I don't use them much myself in my survival world (I haven't found a mesa yet), so except for making a few clay walls in creative I haven't really gotten an in-depth look at them.
As for the water, there's nothing wrong with your game - I just haven't made a custom still water animation. Frankly I'm terrible at animations, and I really don't want to spend hours upon hours of my life trying to make something that looks half-way decent. If anyone knows and quick and dirty trick for animating water, please share it!
PS: I could totally go for a T-shirt like that too. Or better yet a sweatshirt, because I'm freezing my metaphorical balls off right now where I live.
I animated my water by copying and pasting it in a diagonal pattern and then copying and pasting the resulting animation strip (once you put it all together) and then flipping it, changing the opacity and putting it over the top of the other. Made it look somewhat like waves lapping against each other and IMO it worked pretty well. Definitely not going to change my water in a hurry!
That advice made barely any sense so I most likely can't really explain it...
Anyway, as for blocks, I'd like to see hay, clay and obsidian done if possible. Mostly hay as there are a lot of buildings on the test world with hay roofs.
Those rails are rather spiffy. I feel like throwing a gravel base under the rails would be fitting for this pack, but I suppose that's up to your preference.
I'd really like to see what you do with obsidian as well...
That rail... why do you always put an extra set of rails inside the main running rails? If they are guard rails, they only occur on tight curves and points.
If you are doing multi-gauge; some of the additions would block the narrow gauge track. Multi gauge track also generally uses one stock rail and one extra rail; not two different.
Feathers I tried out my skybox with your pack and it's looking really nice. You definitely need to do the sun and moon though, default one is pretty jarring. A skybox would be awesome if you decide to do one as well, I think it would really suit the pack to have one.
This pack looks really great, and it's coming along so quickly! I really love pixel art, and you're doing a really good job of creating it (of course). Looking forward to you hopefully making a banner for this pack.

I've only done it once before. I wouldn't consider that "always".
And I do it because it looks cool and adds some visual interest. Minecraft is so far from reality in most respects that I don't give a hoot if my rails make sense as actual train tracks.

Oh yeah, I need to do that. Thanks for reminding me.

When I first saw this comment I read it as "I made a skybox for your pack" and I was all
Then I realized it was from your pack. Drat.
Still looks good, though. Although skybooks is pretty far down on my to-do list.

I tried doing that, but it looked really strange when the rails were on an incline.
Very much love this resource pack, and i gotta say. The fact one of the paintings is now a unicorn made me laugh a bit, too.
anyway yeah, Steelfeathers you're the creator of all my favorite texture/resource packs so far. xD

Retired StaffI've also redone the spruce logs, which you can see in this picture:
Are you referring to acadia planks? If not, I have no idea what you're talking about.

Retired StaffThere's an alternate download link on the main page of this thread. There's also an alternate download button on PMC.
I don't know what PMC's deal is right now with uploading files. It says it's uploaded, and yet it acts like the file isn't there....
How do you make a custom sky?
Thanks!
Whoops. I keep forgetting all those obscure natural blocks. *face-palm*

Hmm...I'll probably have to make some inquiries on the TAU thread, then. Or maybe I'll just go poke Sheep....
