Sorry for coming off as rude or mean. Why are you making a realism pack? There are hundreds of them on these forums. I'm actually having trouble finding resource pack that's unique, because most of them are faithfuls or realism ones.

My New Realism 16x texture pack was uploaded here on the forums in July 2011. Minecraft was still Beta 1.7 when I made it. I made five other 16x texture packs before the game's official release, and I still update them here and on Planet Minecraft. I had been very hesitant to try my hand at higher resolutions up until late last year. I chose to take my New Realism as a starting point and try to 'improve' it. Thanks to some of the optimizing they have done to the game my laptop has an easier time running a 32x than it used to.
Feel free to check out one of my other texture packs. I have three that are inspired by video games as well as the very popular 'Cheerful Pack', which my awesome wife has helped me develop. I understand your question totally. There are so many texture packs that are called realistic, and even more that are uploaded as simple or better than default. I'd be thrilled if more people used some of the very good quality texture packs that exist instead of spending a couple hours on something with no original ideas, and throwing it online to clutter up these sites.
