NOTE: I had accidentally deleted my entire .minecraft folder (thinking it was just a shortcut) and thus everything was deleted.I do not have any of the previous textures except for the cobblestone, which i would like to use in my new pack that I am working on.pack:~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~CHECK BACK LATER FOR UPDATESI understand the restrictions of Vattic's rules, so I will not be posting a mediafire link to the pack as of yet.CHECK BACK FOR CHANGESI won't be posting 'edits' in the comments as I think it'll look too messy and disorganized (yep, I have minor OCD)This is a VERY early work in progress, and I am very new to the texturepack/resourcepack gig. I am only working on textures that I feel like doing at the time and I am not very active in doing so. I am quite busy most time and I cannot work on the pack very often. All I am asking for is your opinion on the current textures and what can be improved. I have taken mild inspiration from the JohnSmith pack, as well as DokuCraft. The water and emerald block are just edited Doku textures. The blocks that I have changed so far go as follows:dirtgrassstonecoal oreiron oregold orelapis ore/blockemerald ore/blockdiamond ore(animated)redstone orenether quartz orenetherrackoak top/sidejungle top/sidespruce top/sidebirch top/sidesandstonesandmyceliumall wool
Wood TexturesDirt and Grass TexturesOres and (badly) Corresponding BlocksPlank Textures(and some Wool)Quartz block, pillar and chiseled.LogsBeginning sugar cane texture and CTMJust made cactus(the colouring on the top doesn't match the sides and there isn't any spines on the sides yet).Sand texture and random textures (I boosted up the 'spawn rate' of the other textures just for a pic, they are meant to be much rarer)What villages look like (the blocks don't fit, do they?)I tried...and it failed. But here's the chest texture (will most definitely be edited later on)Leaves(yes, they are horrible, but I need a custom feel to it).Lava(barely)? What the Mushroom Island looks likeSalmon raw and cookedApple and carrot texturesNether Portal (faithful portal texture, just recoloured-hoping to make my own)
This looks pretty good so far, except for the ores, I suggest you draw them yourself (I suppose you didn't).
But the dirt, cobblestone and stone look really good
Keep it up !

PS : One topic is enough.
Yeah, I was planning on changing the ore icons soon, but I wan't to keep the actual ore blocks as they are, thanks for the feedback! When you say you dont think I made them, is it because they are pixelated? That's my method of making textures-begin with a high resolution drawing with the tablet, and then resize and smooth when it is 32x. It sounds weird but i works for me
P.S The edit button was working for me, but everytime I press 'update edited topic' (ore whatever it is) I was unaware that it was posting a new one, which didn't make sense. Sorry for any possible inconvenience
The changes you've made so far aren't bad although there could be a few tiling errors and another thing you can edit your post, you don't need to make 9 topics, if you want to change something just click the edit button.
For the tiling, I'm not sure what you mean. If you do mean the decorative sandstone and the bottom dirt ctm, I know what you mean.
The edit button was screwing up for me, as I said in the other reply, and I didn't know that would happen
The edit button is rather glitchy at the moment. If you click edit, and the options don't appear at the top, then clicking "save changes" won't close the edit box. If this happens, click "save changes", then leave the thread page and come back. The edit is saved, but it just won't close the edit box on it's own sometimes. However, if the options appear above, you're fine.
Regarding the pack, providing these are all original textures you made, it looks really nice. The separation in the cobblestone is a nice style. I think the ores should be embedded in the stone though, so it fits in, rather than looking like it's glued on.
Also, I notice the lapis lazuli block is the default brick texture, tiled and recoloured. I would avoid using default textures in your textures, as the defaults are what most people here are trying to avoid, and the 16x16 texture style doesn't fit in higher resolutions, tiled or otherwise.

Thanks for deleting the other topics. I was about to ask a mod to get rid of them
I spent a lot of time on the cobble texture, glad you like it :D. I had that 'embossed' style before but I couldnt get it to look as if it were inside the stone. No matter where i put the light.
Regarding the lapis block, I agree with you. But I was just playing with it at the time. I wanted to make it look 'good' in decoration, so i tried out the blue brick look. It'll definitely be changed.

Actually I wasn't talking about the ores, but about the minerals themselves, they just look like a photo, I don't think it really fits the pack.

The gold and iron have changed to bars and the coal is more smooth. The diamond and emerald I had textured myself but they are being edited. The lapis and redstone, I will admit were from google images but that was to get a feeling of what they'd look like.
