A resource pack created for those of us who hate useless sounds.
NO MORE HEADACHES is a resource pack I made that turns down the volume on all of Minecraft's loud, useless, irritating, and gross sounds (sorry C418, love ya)
Here's a few examples of what's changed:
-Minecart sounds eliminated
-Nether Portal sounds reduced
-Ghast sounds reduced
-Rain SIGNIFICANTLY reduced
-plus a few others
Feel free to use these sounds in other Resource packs but leave me credit if distributed. If you would like to make a video demonstration of what this pack is like, I'd be happy to post it here in the thread.

What he is trying to do with this, I believe, is reduce the annoying sounds, while being able to keep the nicer ones at full volume. That's why he can't just turn the volume down.

THIS. Turning down the volume of ALL sounds takes away from the game, so I just reduced the volume of all the sounds that didn't add anything to it.
What if you're on a server with no plugins, where greifing is allowed, and you want to see if someone is using an invisibility potion?
You wouldn't be able to see them in the rain anyway then. And if you had the overwhelming suspicion that there was an invisible person, you'd probably turn off particles so you could try and hear the person walking around because you wouldn't be able to hear/see them with rain on.

Turning off particles turns off the rain sound. Protip.
