This texture pack by Kmccmk9, is a beautiful and clean texture pack for Minecraft.
Using The Texture Pack:
Download the .zip file from this project page and add it to your resource packs folder. DO NOT EXTRACT!This is usually located at: C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\resourcepacks\
I'm not sure how many people would be very fond of this texture pack, since you just greyscaled the default textures. But who knows.
I'm not sure how MCpatcher works for versions 1.6 and over, but if it works the same as it did in 1.5, I'd recommend you edit the colour palettes and colour.properties files for things like redstone, particle effects and the sky, so it's truly black and white.

Well a lot of people have stopped using mcpatcher, since it conflicts with any mod. That is why I was trying to make it purely texture pack based, so it could be applicable to any minecraft client game. The other way to achieve this effect is to use a mod/shaders or turn your monitor greyscale. But, I wanted to make something anyone can use.
In a way, but also not. Filters were involved but not only filters. Other photoshop modifications as well some by hand and some filter. Also I'm planning to hand fix some of the textures that got a bit messed up during the process.
Yeah... Putting adf.ly on what is essentially default textures...
I hope you realise you're breaking laws here, trying to profit from others' works.
You should probably, you know, not do that. It's kind of a **** move, and what does that make you?
Okay maybe instead of continuing to tell me why you don't like what I've done, move on. If you don't like it, don't download it. SIMPLE. I made it for people who might like it. I never imagined I would get all this hate over something so simple. At this point I almost completely regret even posting it. So what? I put a adf.ly link. Does everyone else not do the same thing? Do you think I didn't spend a lot of time on this? Think what you want, makes no difference to me.

The reason people are a bit annoyed is that this takes about 2 seconds per block to make And it doesn't help that ad.fly, something that you can profit off of, is used here. Not that I'm accusing you of using it for profit, just trying to explain why people may be complaining.

Thanks for the post/explanation. I agree and see why people are annoyed. For anyone who wants to know, this is why I use adf.ly. First, its a great url shortner. Second, it has great features for me such as organization and stat tracking. While it is true I can earn a profit from links using adf.ly. I have mine set to the lowest plan. The last reason I use it is because all of my mods/texture packs/files are all running through adf.ly. It makes it easier if everything is in one spot lol. I hope that can explain it for people and for those of you who really think I'm making a profit here: so far there have been 5 clicks, generating .00043 cents.
Either way it's still unfair to do- especially when this IS just a de-saturated Default edit..
Perhaps if you started from scratch keeping to the greyscale /muted theme instead then people wouldn't be so brash about it~
I like that idea, however, I can't make block textures for "dog". I'm terrible. That's why I choose to do filters and color mods. Like my neon texture pack. Though I will admit that one took a lot more work. Okay so I have disable any ad revenue from this link. It still links to adf.ly but no profit.
Sorry everyone seems so butthurt over this it actually looks pretty nice, also you dont need mc patcher to change effects and such anymore you can do it right in the resource pack.

Look at the date of the last post. Look at the date of your post. You necro'd a topic, AKA brought it back from the dead.
I'm sorry to bring this back up again; it's the only one that still works however. I was underwhelmed by the screenshots—it seemed dull, boring, uninspired. But when I actually tried it out, it is simple, easy on the eyes, and avoids too much distraction—allowing focus on the actual design.
Great work, I'm much more impressed than I expected.

I have discovered a truly remarkable proof of this, which this margin is too small to contain.

Less than that, I could batch process the entire texture folder in photoshop in a few button clicks, and make this entire texture pack in about 1-2 minutes, only thing slowing me down is the speed my computer can open/grayscale/save all the files automatically.
Actual workload, maybe a minute. 30 seconds to record the batch process, 30 more to set it up to run. Then I go grab a cup of coffee and by the time I get back: Done!

Your "great work" comment really devalues the guys who do actual work around here.

No, I admit that this doesn't take a lot of work. It still takes a decent amount, and it's great work.
Let's parse.
(adj) great of an extent greatly above the average or expected
Most of these packs are simple packs. Those take no effort and generally don't tile, among a few other complaints.
Great does not imply long-worked; oftentimes it does mean that though. I never claimed it was hard work, I never claimed it was the best. I claimed it was above the expected, the expected being my old perception which would be dull and boring. It wasn't so it was of an extent greater than my normal.

That is also indeed an option...although I"m not sure it will quite look like this texture pack as I didn't just greyscale everything.

Curse PremiumOkay for the sake of the argument, if I make something that's half way decent, new resource pack under different name?
