Please add in the Classic brick texture, or at least a separate download for the Classic brick texture, it gives me overall more nostalgia while playing.
I started a project at the end of last year that lets you choose textures, I stopped for a while after the code was done because it took forever to get the images and sounds together. Ill work on it soon. But I have the classic bricks. Ill temporarily have the file here: BRICK.PNG
I personally love this pack, do you think you could change the tall grass texture to something about half the size and change the double tall grass to the regular tall grass in your next update?

I can't change the hitbox of the top section, but I can make it transparent. Since this is a nostalgia pack, I'm not just gonna add it, although it is a really good idea, I'd probably prefer it. Here is what a put together in a few minutes. These are just the images, so you'd have to add them to the pack yourself. Just put these pictures in the blocks folder in the resource pack. If you need help, just ask.
I haven't tested them, so tell me if there is a problem or they don't work.
I changed the leather armor the best I could, when the leather armor was changed, the made it hard coded to set the color. This is because the added the ability to dye the armor. I don't have much control over the color.
The gold block also had a gradient I think Alpha - Pre Alpha
I cannot change just the sides of the block. All the sides must be the same. Also, the sides of iron, gold, and diamond blocks were really ugly back then.
But thanks for the input and trying to help make this a better pack

thank you, I love it. You could make a browser page with a bunch of options on it on for what textures you want in your personal texture pack, so people can customise them how they wish. Also what program do you use to texture your pack.

I actually didn't know web dev at the time, so I made it a downloadable jar file. The program is done, I just haven't put together all of the images or sounds from the past (there are A LOT and are hard to find). I use GIMP 2 to get and modify the textures and Audacity for sounds.
Ok so do you know how you gave me those old resources file a while back? I just got WinRAR to open it, replaced the sounds and played offline I opened a door and the most miraculous sound came out of it!YES WHEN YOU PUT OLD RESOURCES IN THE FOLDER AND PLAY OFFLINE IN ALPHA TO 1.9 YOU WILL HAVE OLD SOUNDS
Doors emitted purple particles in 1.7 this was a bug but pretty cool Sadly I dont have a picture of it, though
I assume you mean beta 1.7. Unfortunately I cannot change the specific particles of breaking blocks. The block's texture is used to make the particles. So to make the door particles purple, I'd have to make the door purple. It was an error with the code at the time and cannot be changed without mods. Sorry.
Could you possibly do the end portal frame? It could kind of work if you change the ender eye texture in the "repaired" frame into something that matches the old texture.

I was working on that, I think in 1.8 you can change block models so you can actually change the shape of the block. So I may be able to make it how it was originally. I'm not sure though. I'll try to get these working with full block models in the future.

Curse PremiumAll you gotta do is open it up, open assets, then minecraft, then delete the textures folder. Keep the sounds folder and you will get the old sounds.
Edit: also have you considered making blocks/items added to the game to look like they would be retro? That might be kinda cool
