Unfortunately, the resources minecraft uses for those versions are downloaded from their site. And are SHARED with the current sounds. They download the old versions from the SAME PLACE. So it is currently impossible to play alpha ONLINE and have the old sounds. Any time you try to replace the sounds with the old ones, they are redownloaded upon launch. You may be able to counteract this by playing OFFLINE mode after replaceing the resources. But don't quote me as I have not tried it. You can see now it was even harder for me to get the old resources as they no longer exist even in the time machine. Hopefully I explained that well, but if not, just ask.

Now I remember why I left out the redstone cross. The redstone texture is already technically a cross, but the game crops the image based on the number of connections there are. So when there are none, it uses the middle of the texture only. Because of this, I cannot make this happen without modding the game. Sorry.

It's fine, I understand it's a learn to love kind of texture, I am currently working on a project that will let you customize this texture pack TO THE MAX. Stay posted, it's nearly done. It is EXACTLY what you want and will be very helpful. Just keep checking.

I've never seen anything in minecraft's resources that would make me think this is possible, I'm pretty sure it's a hard coded movement that can't be altered. Sorry.

It's about time someone posts the 200th comment. It's been 199 like forever. I figured at least someone would see that and want to say something at least. The snowball sound is the arrow sound is it not? I think enderpearls and eye of ender do that too.
