No but there is no way to do that in a resource pack. The previous lighting glitches and lighter textures were due to the engine running in the java program we all know as Minecraft. I can not alter or even break into the engine used to render the lightness of each block. In order to achieve such affects in vanilla Minecraft 1.6.2, you just simply need to turn off smooth lighting and fancy graphics. I hope this helped and I hope you enjoy the pack.
The texture of food isn't the old texture
It is scandalous
Which food texture do you want me to alter because I will gladly change any textures that are bothering you. I am not sure which food items you would like me to change or which textures you want me to find from old copies but I will gladly do that for you!
I tried to do this by first changing the "Names" of items and blocks in a language file I created but this failed. I later tried doing this is the Canadian English language file but this failed as well. I understand your idea but it is too complicated to make it possible in a resource pack. I will continue to experiment with this but any way possible would force the user of the resource pack to choose my language file in the drop-down menu and this would be kinda annoying. Also, I am not sure that when you switch resource packs that this will cause any bugs with the language you chose in the game. I am sorry I couldn't change the tool-tips currently but I will try to continue to experiment with other ways to bring back the old nostalgic names for items.
Thanks for the advice, forgot all about that.... I will gladly change this soon. It is gonna take some time because I am kind of busy right now but this feature ( )should be included by August 24th. If you or any other people have any more great suggestions like that, please either post it here, on this forum, or PM me using the Curse system on the Minecraft Forums.
Suggestions: old flat piggy nose! Old, ugly saplings (if those aren't implemented yet)! Very old wood texture from 0.013a! And make the villagers mute again, I NEED IT!!
That is a great idea for the pig's nose! I had thought of this previously but have never tried it because nobody had asked for it. This feature should be in the latest release of the resource pack coming out soon or near to the end of September. There are going to be a lot of more changes in it too. Also, I am in the process of fixing up bugged sounds including the sound files of the villagers. Sorry for the inconvenience but it shall soon be fixed.

As a reply to both of your ideas as to what to implement dealing with extremely early textures.... I would like to put into perspective that before Minecraft went into Open-Alpha mode, or Beta, or Multiplayer, very few people had played the game. And if they had, they were not very interested due to the aridness and simplicity of the game itself. Many people however hitched on to the idea of playing the game once The Yogscast (formerly BlueXephos) started making videos of the game. This was already early Beta and most people had just began playing. So, as a response to the extremely old textures, I feel that they will not bring back Nostalgia in some players due to their inexperience of the game at the time when those textures were used. Sorry that I will not follow-up ideas like "Very old wood texture from 0.013a" or "grass texture the really old one thats green all over". If you have any more suggestions or comments, please state them below in the rest of the response space on this forum post. Thank you for the suggestions and please keep them coming.
What about the old gold block texture? That would be great!
I'd love to do this and I am going about updating this resource pack soon once 1.8 comes out. I am going to do the wanted chest update with no lock and the black lines down the middle and also I can take into consideration the gold block. The gold block textures were very unique back in the Alpha stage and this is what I believe you are talking about. There were two versions - one with bronze near the bottom and one with horrible shading. If you respond to this message on here with which texture you're referring too, I'll gladly change the gold block for you and update the resource pack with some other changes as well.

Hey everyone, the creator of this resource pack here and I am going to be back soon to work on this pack and update all the textures, 3D models, and all the sound bugs and glitches or missing features for Minecraft 1.8.1. I have noticed that the new leave textures are black and that some of the sounds are still being played and I believe I can fix this soon.
The resource pack probably will be updated by Christmas of this year so happy mining in the mean-time!
Things I have to work on as of now: Old sounds and new sounds still playing 50/50. Black leaves on the new 1.8 trees. The chest model is 3D and fancy looking in 1.8 and I am hoping to simplify it back to its original state. Some food textures still are new and haven't been changed to the old Alpha/Beta textures. I am going to try to make the link a Google drive link as this seems to be the fastest download and most convenient for users. The door texture now needs to be altered back to its original state.
I am also going to try to release a language file that changes the names of certain items back to the names they had in the Beta times of Minecraft. I am going to strive to have all textures, sounds, names, and models returned to their state in Alpha 1.2.6 once by mid 2015.
