I've been away from MC for a while and I was wondering why my custom texture pack i made wasn't working. I found out that it's now not terrain.png but rather a folder of every single block in separate files. I'd really prefer not to sit down and copy/paste every single block into the folder and rename them everything, on top of trying to figure out what each block is. (my texture pack isn't a reboot, it's completely different and unique. i.e. sponges look like rocks, other blocks are made to look like a cabinet when placed in the right order.) How does this all work with 1.5 out? Is there any program that automatically converts the png file to something compatible with 1.5.2?
I believe Dinnerbone made an unstitcher tool (https://twitter.com/Dinnerbone/status/281796115647561728), but converting between the formats isn't actually that difficult. It does involve a lot of copying and pasting if you can't get the unstitcher to work, unfortunately- that's what I ended up doing with my pack. The best way to figure out where everything goes is to get a default terrain.png to compare with the new files.
If you have any CTM applied to the pack, there is an unstitcher built into MCPatcher that will convert those for you, along with all the default textures.
STOP in the name of love, you might also want to convert it to a resource pack to be ready for 1.6, although it deletes some textures (for unknown reasons.)
