With all the amazing, clever things you could have done with the pumpkin blur, this doesn't seem all that special. Try something a little more imaginative.

I think the point is to make a clean, original pumpkin blur that doesn't block half the screen like all the rest. I like that he put his own spin on it, instead of making another Halo mask or whatever other non-sense people seem to think is "more imaginative."

All right then, here goes:
This pumkin blur doesn't really make sense to me. There's the text (which is really out of place in a pumpkin blur in most cases). Then there's the edges, which by a stretch could be interpreted as the edges of a helmet or a pair of goggles. The middle is just flat color. Overall, it's really boring and bland. There's not much contrast, and the shading along the edges of those top and bottom things is a little jagged.
Much better. Thank you for the constructive criticism. If I ever get around to making a second version I will work to improve upon those things. As for right now, it is better than a pumpkin face in my opinion.

The gray letters are a way of incorporating body language and intonation into text. It's meant as an aside, or something added that isn't relevant to the post.
Why are you insulting Samoh? There is no reason to get angry at him, as he has done nothing wrong. I don't know what you expect, but one of the few things you actually wrote on the opening post was "tell me what you think". He clearly stated what he thought, and no harm should have been done. Not only did he do nothing wrong, he did exactly what you told him to, so you have no need and no reason to insult him. If you ask people what they think, they will tell you. If you want people to do nothing but worship you, you would need something worthy of it, and you would need to have no will to improve. Comments, positive or negative, are helpful feedback, and it is up to you to use the valuable feedback to your advantage, rather than to lash out against like a five-year old because someone didn't give you a positive and absolutely unhelpful reply. Frankly, he is right, and this is a very small edit that has been done before. I am pretty sure that in the time since the pumpkin blur has existed, that exact pattern has been done before, with texture on the inside. Use of the design wouldn't be a problem if it was accompanied by a texture pack, but this is a single image edit doing nothing more than changing a single overlay. If someone wanted this, they could get it with the easily available option of having an entire other pack to use if they choose to. With this, it lacks that extra feature, so this in comparison wouldn't be worthwhile over the similar alternatives. One thing that many texture designers here suffer from is their own opinions. If people are high on their work and are certain that it is perfect, they are bound to be proved wrong. I haven't seen one good texture pack from someone thinking their work was flawless. The best texture designers here became so good by taking both positive and negative comments to their advantage by fixing what they had a problem with and taking their advice. If you want to get more positive feedback from people, start taking the negative feedback and use it, so you can improve. That is all I can say.
Look guys. I am open to and welcome criticism. I understand that "my creation" was not perfection, nor did I claim it to be. My only qualm with Samoh was his delivery. Had his criticism been worded in the manor that he posted the second time around I would have had nothing to say. When I try to offer criticism to people I word it in a way that actually provides some constructive content (like Samoh did the second time around). Simply telling someone "Hey, you suck" really doesn't offer much help.

His first post provided no valuable information. His 2nd post actually contained constructive criticism. Honestly, his first post made him look like a ****. Providing constructive criticism is very simple. You aren't God's gift to Minecraft or it's community. Get over yourselves.

Am I the only one who read that entire thing?
