I think you need to consider what kind of style you are going for. I see a spread of styles, from phototextures to smooth to cartoony. If you don't define for yourself what you are trying achieve, and explain it in your tread, your commenters aren't going to be able to help you tighten your pack's stylistic focus, and you'll get advice taking you in different directions.

I have been trying to narrow the packs style, slowly rooting out the textures that don't really fit. What I'm trying to go for, is a smooth and clean feel to it, while still looking realistic. Some of the textures have been taken from photographs, but I have tried to make sure they are smooth and clean looking. Is there any texture that stands out to you, as not fitting the pack?
This i feel is also again, too similar to soartex, much like the glowstone.
Here is a comparison pic:
Hmm, I really like that chunky poking out of the rock feel. Do you think it would be enough just to change the shape, or do you think I shouldn't do this style? Like I said before, soartex was part of my inspiration, but if its too alike I will change it, as I don't want it to look much alike.
Try using the color region select tool (assuming you use gimp2) then set the threshold to say.. 15 then select the brightest area and increase the brightness of that ( i would use the Dodge/-ve burn tool)
I understand that you feel it inspired you but i believe there to be some difference between inspiration and (attempted) replication.
As for the "Good idea" - i use this on all my ores.
Ok, I will change it. I didn't try to replicate it, I tried to create something in that sort of style, because I liked the look of it and wanted to create something similar. I understand if it looks a bit too much like soartex, though.
And it's still a good idea, even if you use it for your ores!
The ore chunks themselves look fantastic, though I feel the cracks around them are a little understated. They're a little hard to see, unless you get really close. It kind of flattens them out if you move farther away.

hey nice work!
I like the theme of this pack although a few things could do with change, like the iron ore for instance; its been done in a crystal form which is weird as iron is a metal not a crystal, and the dirt chunks could do with a little more colour.
but other than that I like it!!
Edit: oops just saw the new ore chunks, they look waaayyyy better!
Yup, better. But you could still make some cracks thicker and/or darker, they look like they're only 1px wide.
I tried that, it ended up looking bloated, and detracting from the ore itself. Do you have any suggestions on how to do it? (aside from moving my resolution up, of course! )
Edit: I tried again today, and came up with this:
Is that better, worse, or the same?
I think the ores are better now, good job!
About the rails, the curve ones look odd, because of the rotated wooden parts.
Maybe increasing the opacity of the shadow of the rails and a low opacity 1px stroke on the wooden parts (I should google how they're called...) will help.
Oh, and that grass is also similar to soartex (Yup, I've been playing with soartex a lot...)
For the rails, I'm not sure what you mean by the 1px thing... I see what you're saying about the shadows though, I'll mess with those.
I'll probably also make the rotated planks a little closer to the ends, as it doesn't really match.
And the grass is kind of funny, I made the grass a long time ago, and when I saw soartex's grass, I was like "Hey! That looks like my grass! " I really can't think of any other way to do it, other than just making a noise texture. (bleh)
Ok, managed to slip in a update in my vacation! (That's why I haven't been very active lately.)
I added:
Cauldron
Flowerpot
light sensor
Nether brick (yes, this is a recolored version of stone brick, deal with it )
Portal
Trapdoor
And I messed with the workbench a bit. Its still not perfect, I'll still work on it more.
The ore's are nice, I just really hate the stones on the very bottom. Make them look like the ones on the top or... actually make them all a little bigger and remove a couple of them.So sorta how you had it before, but less "Sortex Fanvery"
Also, you really need to update the screenshots on the main post

Ok, I'll try to fix that. I forgot about the screenshots! I'll fix that today.
Edit: Is this better?
I did the rest of the swords. Except gold, I'm not sure what I'm going to do for gold. Any ideas?
The stones hilt could use a bit more shading, I'm noticing now.
