Yep, items will be my main focus next. I've also been playing around with better grass and leaves support, since it seems pretty easy to do.
Unfortunately my computer is conking out, and i'll be unable to get any more art done until that's resolved.
Better grass and leaves, AWESOME.
Computer issues, NOT AWESOME.
Hope you get your issues sorted out soon, you've made some great progress on the pack since I checked in last. Really looking forward to the better grass and leaves mod support though, I can barely play without it now.

Thanks.
The grass part is pretty straightforward, and i like especially having different side grass. That part could be done, unless i make more variations.
The leaves leaves are a bit trickier, i think to make them look good with a texture that's not little more than noise. We'll see, when i get a chance to work on it.

What items will you do first? Personally I think you should do tools first cos swords look out of place in my inventory with my shovels and picks and stuff, which is a shame cos they look awesome (although iron and stone look too similar, same with gold and wood)

I agree tools are the highest priority. But they aren't all exactly guaranteed in the next pack, because i don't always have a good idea for what's on the top of the priority list, or sometimes, i make the texture, and i don't like the result, so i work on something else and come back to it later. I'm not thrilled with the swords, and would like to do more than a color swap, but we'll see.

I'm experimenting with the different tiers. I don't simply want to do a recolor of each tool/sword.
But do you think these are too extremely different? Especially the diamond and gold, i don't want people to think these are some modded item. Note, this is potentially the same treatment i'd give the tools: crude-looking for wood and stone, fairly normal for iron, angular & cool for diamond, and exotic and fancy for gold.
Computer trouble previously mentioned was much easier to fix than expected.

That's SO much better! Don't particularly like the gold sword texture because it seems too weak and doesn't seem very decorative
And I think that stone should be more like iron than wood (not too weak but not too strong either)

The gold sword should be one of those curved blades, like a cutlass.
As requested i've been working on the Tools-- stone and iron icons are included in this release. With the blocks, 23 textures have been tweaked, mostly for better color harmonization-- note especially the Sandstone and Cobble. The buttons & quickbar have recieved a through polishing -- the main menu established the GUI style i want to bring to the rest of the game. A few other textures have been added.
I requested and got some feedback on the swords, but i'm going to mull that over with whatever other feedback i get from players.
New version numbering, hopefully less confusing.
The number starts with the Stable Minecraft version it is designed for, and adds a letter. The next one will be v1.6.2-B.

Nice man! Keep up the good work!
Ok just a few things I don't like at the moment
Bedrock: I think it just looks a bit strange, look at vaatics faithful pack, he did a wonderful job on that
Digging animation: just looks a bit pixelly and strange around the edges
Gold sword: a bit too curvy and not really decorative enough
Stone tools: I think they need to be less like wood and more like iron, but not as polished
Update
Currently I'm working on adding connected textures features to the pack. Mostly it will be things like fixing things vanilla textures badly, like buttons and fences, or adding random alternate textures to things like grass, cobble, and books to avoid too obvious repetition. It is really looking nice.
I'm not going to add anything too crazy, i'm sticking to the goal ( #2, but i need to expand the explaination) that Lithos isn't going to change anything fundamental about the identity of blocks. For instance, Glowstone isn't going to look like some fancy lamp. Builds made in Lithos will look like the same thing when viewed in vanilla, or another faithful pack-- they just won't look as good.
MCPatcher/Optifine features are going to be something to make things look better in a lot of subtile ways, but not required to enjoy Lithos.

See my original post especially the "Goals" and "Why Another 'Faithful' Pack?". You are of course free to have your own preference, but, something like vattic's bedrock would clash with the style of my other textures, and violate both parts of my third goal.

The Lithos Pack is one of the best resource packs I used for 1.6 now. But I'm not really liking how the Stone blade looks like. I sorta think it should look like the sword below. It's just my opinion though.
Yes, don't want to seem like a troll, but the stone sword design seems like it could be improved on. Maybe a more round hilt and a longer blade? Great job on everything else though. Could you perhaps do a alternate battleaxe texture for diamond? The gold covering on the diamond pickaxe is strange as well
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
A double resolution texture pack that stays faithful to the original Minecraft textures.

Yeah, it has issues. i'll have to redo that sometime.
You can't shape stone like you can iron. I'm trying to emphasize the different between the two grey tiers -- i don't want to unify them.
