I already thought several times that the furnace fire animation in tht GUI looked a bit off.
Might it be that the overlay is shifted towards the left by one pixel?
Or is it supposed to look like that?
Anyway: Still <3ing your texture pack and a friend of mine who usually doesn't use packs said last weekend (honestly impressed) that it looked good. I'm going to convert him.
Also: Many, many thanks for providing a mod-support free version now!
It looks like in the example you gave, that it's shirted upwards 1 pixel too.
Also I asked eleazzaar if the mod support should be a different pack, or at least have a poll about it.

Yep, that looks messed up. Thanks for mentioning, I haven't watched a furnace cook in ages...

Mod-less downloads have been available for the last three versions. Based on the very low download rate the public doesn't care about the extra 8 MBs Mod support entails. Maybe someday, but it doesn't make much difference at the moment.

I have some mods that I will try to do. Here they are:
These are the only mods that I plan on doing to make textures for (for the next 2 updates of Lithos).
Note: On the Chisel 2 mod, I have (currently) added the textures for the normal & polished version of the Andesite, Diorite, & Granite blocks. I will try to do some of the textures for limestone & marble. I do also plan on doing some of the bookshelf textures. But some of the Chisel block folders are currently empty because 1) I don't want to add mod textures that I haven't edited (which I have done by accident a few times) & 2) I don't want to leave some WIP texture in there as I want to only add the finished versions of the Chisel 2 blocks, because if they are WIP they might (& most likely) will not look as good as the finished textures.
On a completely different note: I feel like sometimes that I'm spamming this thread with to many mod updates & other mod related comments
EDIT:
Update 1(6/1/2015): I have currently finished some of the Railcraft items that I planned on doing for this update.
Here are the textures
This is one of the few slow updates that I plan on doing for Railcraft. Some of the blocks I wont do anytime soon(as I still need to learn what some of them do & I don't want to make textures & make them hard to tell what their function is.
Now time for Thermal Expansion & Thermal Foundation.
Subaraki's Paintings ++ mod is something that I like. I can create a lot of nice ideas for some of the templates. I might even include some of my own artwork in it too, but then again, that might be a problem as 1) they don't scale down to the biggest slot that they have & still look good & 2) copyright... YEAH
(some of my art is a serious copyright violation, BUT a few are free to use)
I can TRY to create some art for that size, BUT some, mostly very small ones, I can't do. I don't usually like to work at very small dimensions.
Should be "(using some of my art is a serious copyright violation as I will never let people use them unless the ask me & I give them permission, BUT a few are free to use)"
Hello, just wanted to say thank you for this amazing resource pack, I really do love it and it's actually gotten me interested in minecraft again all by itself after I happened to stumble on a video review of it. It has even encouraged me to start making my own custom 3d models to use alongside this for some of the objects I have seen done in other packs, such as rails. (If when I am done with them you would like to have a look and maybe include them let me know, I would be happy to help out if its something you were going to do anyway and I can help take some of the weight)
Please forgive the low post count on this account, I literally just signed up to say thank you and amazing work, as I don't believe in letting something this high quality be used without some gratitude being shown for the work that has been put into it.
As far as mods I would like to see supported, I'm not a big mod user personally, but I would really like to see Animals Plus, DrCyano's Base Metals and GrowthCraft. The first two mostly have crossover with Mo Creatures and Metallurgy respectively, so as you fill in texture gaps in them as more support is given you could easily adapt the textures to work on the other two mods as well and I would be absolutely happy with that solution for the objects it is applicable on. Base Metals is the one I'm really interested in especially given that Metallurgy has had support for it dropped. The third is quite a popular nature and harvesting mod that works well with the vanilla items and objects and given the great style in your existing flora, I would love to see what you can do with it
Edit: Removed Redstone Paste mod in favor of GrowthCraft as I feel its something that would need a direct texture instead of just adapting other textures, and also it would stick out more being unsupported comparitively

I like those 3 mods that you showed me. I will help with mod support for some of the metals in Base Metals. Now GrowthCraft is something me & eleazzaar will maybe have to work on. I can try to make some support for Animals Plus, but that might take a little while (not really good at mob textures).

I'm open to including quality content from others, and 3D rails are something I'd like to add. The problem is the curved rails-- all those polys could have an effect on framerate-- I don't know. I'm open to considering a more angular shape, but haven't messed around with it.

I have done 3D rails for 3D Add-on of my resource pack. Many elements, but framerate stays stable as it was.

They are just nice small mods that provide a more vanilla friendly alternative to some of the larger mod packs. The fact they are small is good to as you can use them as a break from working on some of the larger texture sets (Ugh, biomes o plenty, such a good mod but so many blocks XD)
I was looking at asking for support for Bibliocraft as well, or instead of animals plus, but it actually has an in built compatibility system now for most items, and what things do use unique textures, such as the books, I was looking at seeing if I could patch it first myself so its less stuff for you guys to worry about.

Ive used 3d rails in other mods without any performance hit, even if standing in the middle of an abandoned mineshaft, and it works fine. One I used even had various models where the wood part of the tracks would appear broken in various ways and it was still fine and looked quite interesting.
Either way I will have a play around and see how it goes along with a few other models I want to take a look at. Once I get stuff running I'll post some screenshots and you can decide on if you would like to use it or not. It was just going to be a personal project at first anyway but figured if I was doing it anyway I'd make the offer of sharing it around
Well work on the new mod support is going great! Here are some of the things that I have done:
Ender IO:
1) Added textures for the Dark Steel Ladder & the inside portal texture of the Vacuum Chest
2) Update the Enderman Head
Tinkers' Construct:
1) Added texture for Ladder (A Stone Ladder, but it's called "Ladder")
Added the textures for Normal & Polished Andesite, Granite, & Diorite
Added textures for:
1) Mana Infused Block, Mana Infused Ingot, Mana Infused Gear, Mana Infused Dust, Mana Infused Nugget
2) Signalum Block, Signalum Ingot, Signalum Dust, Signalum Gear, Signalum Nugget
3)Lumium Block, Lumium Ingot, Lumium Dust, Lumium Gear, Lumium Nugget
Also added textures for:
Niter, Blizz Powder, Gold Gear, Lead Gear, Nickel Gear, Platinum Gear, & Sliver Gear
Have fun looking at this!!! Hope you guys will approve of it.
I have been Tinkering with some ideas that I have. I decided to Tinker with some textures. I hope these textures that I Tinkered with are good. I would love to have your guy's feedback on how good I Tinkered with these textures.
Remember that these Tinkered textures are just a rough draft. It's not the final finished version. But then again, all textures that I have Tinkered with are rough drafts.
But I still am working on the template for all of these Tinkered textures that I'm going to be Tinkering with in the future.
I think I'm starting to get a hang of Tinkering with textures now. I still do have some problems, But I'm starting to get the hang of it (I think).
I Tinkered with some sword textures, I don't know if it's good or not. I want your guys feedback on how I did with this Tinkered textures that I Tinkered with for about an hour or so (or was it an hour & a half ... or 2?).
Here is the sword that took me a little bit to figure out how which textures to Tinker with. I think I need to undo a few textures that ended up to be the wrong textures that I Tinkered with.
Well here is the Tinkered Sword:
No, but joking aside, it WAS a HUGE pain to have to edit some of the textures of the Tinkers' Construct textures as in the the individual parts for the pickaxe, & try to figure out which textures are used for the sword & which one is used for the parts & which one are used for the sword itself. It's really confusing. Because some of the textures for the parts use different textures than the textures for the final assembled tool. It sometimes is a hit & miss, & trial & error process to find out which texture is used for the parts & which is used for the tool itself.
Also before I started to work on Tinkers' Construct textures (which I will not be finished until maybe the next version or the version after...depending on how fast eleazzar makes the next version).
Here are the textures that I have made for Extra Utilities before I started on Tinkers' Construct.
Added:
1)Division Sigil *
2)Unstable Ingot
3)Unstable Nugget
(Both the Ingot & Nugget use 2 textures for the item. It is weird to understand at first but after testing which textures did what, I understood it)
4)Bedrockium Ingot
5)Bedrockium Nugget
(The Bytesize modpack did have the item spawnable via NEI & crafting so I couldn't show it, & I didn't want to wait 8 minutes to load up the Crack pack modpack just to show 1 texture, so I just left it out.)
*There is a 32x & 64x version that I added in the files, the 64x is slightly better while holding it & circles look alittle bit better, but other than that it looks the same. So for that reason I added the 32x version to be the default one. You can still change it in the file. I even added a .txt document explaining how to change the textures if you don't know how too.
On a different note: (CAUTION: Long Text Ahead)
There are 2 (technically 3, but still) textures that I have created by hand so far from all of the mod support that I have done so far. Those textures are the Division Sigil & the Tool Binding from Tinkers' Construct.
I haven't done the other textures by hand because most of them are Ore related & eleazzar has create the "Universal Ore Color Scheme" which, if you don't know, makes all the ores from different mods look like same. This helps you tell that the 3 mods that have different copper ingot (ores, blocks, & nuggets too) textures look the same & helps you know that those 3 textures are for the same ore. (If I'm correct, I think he is the first person that has done this, or at least in a relatively large amounts of mods.)
Well when I started to help eleazzar do mod support I just copied over some of the ore textures (ingots, ore block, "Block of [Ore Here]", nuggets, gears, etc.) to mods that have the same ores. Then he gave me his .PSD ("Photoshop Document" file) to help turn out new ores, tools & few more in a faster manner. This helped me do some blocks, gears, & more that aren't in any of the mod assets for Lithos. (Part of the conversation here.)
I have sucked at making textures (but artwork is easier, check out at my DeviantArt Site). So whenever I start to create a texture, I always think that it is not good at all (expect for the Division Sigil which was kinda a bit hard, but still easy), so I would scrap it. When I see a texture that looks like it can be easily made by using another texture from Lithos:Core then I change up that texture to kinda match the mod texture.
I still want to keep the feel & look of Lithos, but I know I will suck at that so I just change the colors & kinda edit the texture itself to match the mod's texture. I do feel bad about this. Now for the ore textures I don't feel bad about, because I'm not trying to make them look pretty. I'm just trying to make them look like the same ingot in the pack & coloring them to match the mod's texture's color.
There are a few textures that I have done where I did have to some editing of the ore's texture to make it look like the mod's texture. An example is the Bedrockium Ingot. I had to match the grainy, gravely texture of the mod's Bedrockium ingots & then try to keep the same color without losing the grainy texture. It was kinda easy to add the grainy texture, & kinda match the color of the ingot, BUT to both was hard. If I went with the texture I would lose the color. If I went with the color, I would QUICKLY lose the grainy texture. So I decided to sacrifice some of the color to keep the grainy texture. At first I didn't like it, but after doing some other textures & not looking at the Bedrockium textures, I decided to maybe kinda redo the texture, but I actually liked it. Other textures that I did the same thing to was the Soularium Block, Pulsating Iron Block, & Conductive Iron Block.
I'm going to start to create more textures that doesn't use Lithos:Core textures. I will have to do this for Tinkers' Construct so that will help me practice on creating new textures. The amount of textures that I will have to do is huge, BUT I am willing to try it. I know I can do this.
The reason that I suck at creating a textures is because that I'm not good at working on small scale. I do decently at creating artwork on a large scale (720p or higher). I don't think that I'm that good, but I know some people in high school said that I was good, but I don't think that I am. (Go to my DeviantArt page & tell me if I truly am good, because I really want to know where my artwork skill is at).
So it's time for me to do more textures by hand. Here is the start of me doing more textures by hand! Starting with Tinkers' Construct.
TL;DR:
I have only made a few textures by hand, & I will start doing more by hand!
Currently working on regarding Tinkers' Construct:
Axes
Broadswords (normal swords)
Pickaxes
Shovels
Short Bows (normal bows) [Haven't started on yet]
I'm also working on the individual pieces for each part that is required to make those tools.
The only thing that I won't work on is the "Broken" part of the tools (Axe Heads, Pickaxe Heads, Sword Blades, etc.). I'm still wandering how I can properly make those textures & have them look good.
I'm also thinking of a good way to make the cactus & nether versions of each tool part.
The next update I will do will have either some work on the other tools (or bows & arrows) OR on the tools [that I have already done] do their modifier effects.
I do love what I can do with the BibliloCraft Painting:
That's a picture I made & shrink it down to 128x128.
I wander if it can go higher, because it does say "There is technically no limit to the number of paintings of the maximum resolution of thoses paintings." so time to test that.
It looks like in the example you gave, that it's shirted upwards 1 pixel too.
Also I asked eleazzaar if the mod support should be a different pack, or at least have a poll about it.

This is an amazing pack! Will be using this one for a long time to come

Looking good :D'
YAAAA!!! A new page... "A WHOLE NEW WORLD!!!"
