looking good ! .... i just like the old metal ingots a lot more ^^ , and in my opinion are a lot more faithful ... maybe you could use this ingots style in luminous
Give the new gold ingot a little time. I think i actually did a better job on these than the old ones, but sometimes something different just feels wrong for a while because it is new. And i'm less worried about being precisely faithful for items.
Anyway, i never explained what i was doing.
A ) i'd like things to be easy to distinguish for fully and partly color blind people, instead of using so many re-colors.
B ) i'd like to make all the mod ores easier to identify by dividing them up into a few categories. Each category would have different styles for storage blocks, ingots, nuggets and dusts. The categories are:
Oh man, it's been a while since I've been in this corner of the forums. Mind if I make myself at home? Don't worry, I brought the hot chocolate. I'm loving the christmas additions (and the non-seasonal additions too). Keep up the good work!
WHAT?! ... why am i not seeing any animated textures then ?
I don't know, because you aren't looking in the right place?
glowstone, red stone lamps, sea lanterns, and all Christmas lights are animate. The change is subtitle, you may have to watch a second to see it. I dislike brigtht blinking lights in real life.
if its a technical problem you'll have to tell me how you run minecraft if you want an answers.
So I'm working on an ocean monument with faithful 32, lithos core, and lithos luminous. It seems to me that the coloration and lighting are duller and dingier with luminous. Tending more towards brown or flat muddy blue than aqua or blue green. IMHO it needs a little brightening and lightening. On the other hand the stained glass (specifically blue) looks soooooo very nice paired with it the monument.

I don't know if Vattic has fiddled with the lighting. Lithos:Luminous does indeed alter the lighting in a more moody atmospheric direction (if you are using MCPatcher or Optifine). I don't have as much control as i'd like, but certain light levels push things towards warm colors (as is appropriate with lava or torch light sources). A blue and/or green building is probably the world case scenario if you want those colors to remain vibrant. But in common minecraft locations, i'm pretty happy with how the lighting works.
You can simply delete the "lightmap" folder in Luminous' "mcpatcher" folder to remove lighting alterations.
Alternatively if you get some lighting direct from the sky, it might provide the coloring you want.
As it is 3 days before Christmas could I port the Christmas pack to pocket edition to use on the special day? I will start the port now and when I am done wait for a response
Feel free to use any sort of modified Lithos pack for your own personal use. However, it is important to me that there aren't a bunch of sources for Lithos packs all over the web from various points of development. Please don't distribute any altered Lithos packs online, as the explained on the first post.
I'm still a great fan of your pack; it's my "standard" one and I squeed when I saw that you made a christmas special.
But I have one request. Could you maybe provide the core version in a slimmed down variety, without all the mod support? I don't use these mods and right now downloading took more than 2 minutes for me.
If it's not too much work, I would really appreciate if there was a version that downloads faster. ^ ^
Thanks in advance, if you have a look into than. And definitely: Have a great, happy christmas!
I am a huge fan of the default texture pack, but have found some of the textures too "sharp." As a result, I have only used around 3 texture packs for a decent amount of time across playing minecraft since beta. This pack easily joins as a new favorite, and I'll be using it as long as you update it.
The random mob and 3D textures look stunning!
The blocks really stay faithful to default, with a warmer feeling!
Thank you for making this! (and especially updating it to 1.8, otherwise I wouldn't have found it ;))
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
If Faithful isn't your cup of tea, check out Lithos!
Over the Christmas Holidays we had the biggest spike of Lithos:Core and Lithos:Christmas downloads ever! So thanks to all of you for making Lithos part of your holidays.
But I have one request. Could you maybe provide the core version in a slimmed down variety, without all the mod support?
I used to think that would be a big pain, but i realized I can add alternate downloads to the curse downloads page. I'll try to remember to do that with the next download.

Thanks, i like to hear from new users and see the Lithos Banner!
I've been using this resource pack for a while now but noticed a few problems in conjunction with connected textures.
Thanks, that looks like valuable feedback. I haven't really looked at CTM features since the 1.8 snapshots started coming out, but the time is coming round that i should do that again...
The connected texture feature for reeds does not seem to work currently in 1.8
MCPatcher for 1.8 is not feature-complete compared to 1.7. Last i heard Kahr wasn't entirely sure it would be possible to get everything working again in 1.8.
So eleazzar, I have found a problem with your pack while someone is using Optifine. If you look here:
In the 1st picture you can see that there are Stone Brick mixed in with the gravel, but in the 2nd picture there is only gravel. In the 1st picture Lithos Luminous is on, but in the 2nd it isn't.
The 1st picture is while I use Optifine (which I use for texture packs built around Optifine, like Conquest) while the 2nd one is while I use MCPatcher(which I use for this pack & texture packs built around MCPatcher, like this one). I thought I like to show this to you.
I don't understand why the Lithos Luminous's Custom Lightmap is not working (everything else is working), but I would think it might be because of MCPatcher not having it(but I dont know for sure as I haven't tested it with other packs). But on another note I can say that your block models for Lithos Core is a possible cause for the stonebrick texture appearing on the gravel. As the only gravel blocks not affected are the blocks with the "gravel1" block model. It isn't the CTM as I even deleted the "gravel.properties" file & it didn't fix the problem.
I thought I might tell you.

Yeah, thanks, this has been reported to me on PMC, but not in such detail.
I suspect it is an Optifine bug that i have no control over, but perhaps it is a weird interaction between 1.8 random variants and CTM. I'll have a deeper look when i reassess that stuff.
So any chance we might see a special Spring themed Lithos? Perhaps with Birch-Cherry trees or something.
Possibly. That's currently the 3rd most popular option in the poll, and it was pretty fun to do everything in winter colors. Though personally, i find the idea of an autumn pack more interesting.

Curse PremiumI'm not sure what you are asking me. But I can't think of any features I've dropped in a Lithos pack.
I do realize the fast leaves are messed up in the latest Christmas release-- i'll fix it.
