Ok, but why do you have a luminous add-on then? Just for some textures that weren't faithful when you managed to make the add-on? For example, before there was the blue bed - I really love that! Frankly, I think that the new fences should be in the Luminous pack with the other "less faithful" textures.

Luminous is more for textures that totally change the block, (like stained glass and blue beds). I'll probably add a 3D door to it that is iron bars, for instance. Though there's a judgment call, the new fences are faithful enough according to the criterion i explained in that previous post, to be included in Core.
I think these will be like many changes that seem big at first, but will seem natural once you spend some time with them.

First off, this is an *awesome* texture pack. I've been using it for a while since it had (and may still have) better support for 1.8 than the other faithful one when I started using the 1.8 snapshots. Now, I've been won over and prefer it to that one.
I do notice a fairly major problem with the nether on the most recent download, however. After I've been in the nether for a while, I get this red flashing area after traveling a significant distance. Also, if I switch to gamemode 3 and fly into netherack, I can't see further than one square. I think these two problems are somehow related -- I suspect that the graphics card has to work extra hard because of the problem with the netherack that makes the interior edges visible, and eventually it causes performance problems when the graphics card runs out of resources.
Either switching to vanilla textures, or to a version of the Lithos Core downloaded on Aug 10th fixes both problems. I'm going to happily continue to use the Aug 10th one until a fix is available.

OK, thanks for the clear and detailed report-- i have an idea about what I may have messed up...
This is the final pre-release before the official 1.8 release of Lithos:Core. It's just convenient how that coincided with "Z". I've fixed a performance issue with the Nether, thanks to Dolphin263's report, and enhanced the new wood textures further. Now all the fence types have dedicated textures, but the fence gates do not. Some of the doors aren't up to date with the planks.
I'm interested in feedback on my wood textures before i apply them to everything.
Don't have time to test it in-game right now but from the screenshots I can tell I already much prefer the new, rougher and more detailed grain in the wood planks than the old ones. Nice work - really nice work on the door models too, they turned out really well!

I assume the item models are WIP, they still inherit the planks texture. Oak fence item seems to be missing its texture (pink/blank squares).
What version of Lithos are you using? You should see custom textures on all the fences, but not the fence gates. (yet) I'm not seeing any missing textures.
Oak doors: I find the change very drastic to both the texture and model and it's going to take some getting used to. Iron doors have the same change to their model yet I feel it's been executed more smoothly. Oak seems too noisy.
I'm not especially happy with the oak door. The texture could be improved, but i may reshape it so something more like the traditional Lithos door.
1.7-Z. Fences appear as intended when placed in the world. When I say "item models", I mean the fences as they appear in the inventory or held in the hand.
Oops, you are right....
EDIT: Thanks.
I released an updated 1.7-Z. It fixes the missing and wrong textures for fences in the inventory.
This release fixes glitches with the Fence gates, and adds new randomized textures to various blocks. It is entirely 1.8 compatible, but I won't give it the 1.8 name until i've completed a few more things.
The Mooshroom thing is a known bug-- there's nothing i can do about, without getting rid of the 3D mushrooms. Sorry, Mooshroom fans, i'm going to leave it. I think most players often encounter mushrooms, but rarely see mooshrooms.
Changelog
Vanilla:
New model for all Fence Gates
Randomized textures for Red Giant Mushroom
Randomized log textures for Birch, Acacia, Oak, and Dark Oak
This is a fantastic pack, it's just what I've been looking for. Vanilla-styled textures so there's no dissonance in builds made in this pack versus vanilla, and the custom models on objects are exactly what I was hoping for! The fences, the doors, the mushrooms... this is my new favorite pack.
And that's saying something, because I'm pretty damn picky with packs.
The Minecraft community in general isn't about "respecting and caring" either. It largely consists of narcissistic children who disregard those other than themselves and like to spout anger, abuse, troll and flame. It is also why any competent multiplayer builder either owns a private server or one where build allowance requires in-depth vetting. If Minecraft was about "respecting and caring" these measures would clearly not be necessary.

Curse PremiumYep, though it is only semi-transparent in the inventory, not the in the world. A player on PMC complained about visibility.
