When mods for Minecraft 1.7 and above become more mainstream, do you think that you'll consider moving your textures for mods into a new add-on? ("Lithos: Occult" perhaps, since there's been a recent focus on magic-themed content.) Obviously at the moment, they don't interfere with the vanilla game at all - my concern is purely about file size.
Yeah, when file-size starts to become an issue, i'll start looking at putting some of the mod content in a separate add-on. Currently, it looks like most of the mod-playing is happening with 1.6 or even earlier. I will need to have the feeling that most of my mod-playing users were in 1.7 or higher before splitting some/all mods out. But size isn't an issue yet. I estimate with all the current mod stuff, and all new vanilla textures, Lithos:Core will weight only 20mb, so that IMHO is still pretty small, compared to packs with lots of CTM.
Re: Magic.
There's a lot of Thaumcraft in the last release, but the upcoming release will have consistently colored ores, metal blocks ingots, etc. for Tinker's Construct, Thermal Expansion, Forestry, and maybe Industrial Craft2.
With my latest release, i've started an Ore Consistency Project. (not all of the above are included in the current release) This means simply that any Lithos-supported mods will use the same color for the same material. For instance various mods use very different colors for tin, but Lithos will use precisely the same color scheme for tin stuff.
I know what you mean though i wouldn't call it quite "horrible". But Lithos is aiming for "mostly faithful", and that high contrast is what builders expect from ore storage blocks.
Will Dusts be done in this pass? A lot of mods allow for the processing of ores into power, doubling yield. and then Thaumcraft has its Nuggets... Oh my...
Actually i've done dusts and nuggets too, I just didn't put them on the chart. So far for four selected mods i've done:
Looking good though some of the ores look a little pasted onto the stone rather than embedded... a lot of the gemstones seem to feel like that.
I'm not entirely happy with all of them. I may go back and redo some when i've had a chance to see them in-game over time and get a better grasp of why exactly some don't look right.
Though i'm generally going for "the Ore is protruding Out" look. I'm not trying to make it looks recessed into the stone.
Ores: Coal, Iron, Redstone, Gold, Diamond, Quartz (now with random CTM)
Emerald Ore, and Block
Dirt (now with CTM)
Improved Items:
Bread
Glowstone Dust
Universal Ore Color Scheme Support:
For the following mods, includes Ore Blocks, Storage Blocks, Ingots, Nuggets, Dust, Gears, Oreberry Bushes, Wand Caps, Castings, Crushed and Purified Ore, Plates and Dense Plates.
In most cases tools are not yet supported.
The snapshot stone types. I think i've got them where i want them.
Oh, I've been waiting for that!
They look really good.
They blend nicely with each other. I thought that the original Diorite is a bit too light to look natural next to the normal stone, but yours seems to be a bit darker and therefore matches the other stones better.
Good job! *thumbs up*
Edit: But they are not included in the latest available download, are they?
Because I re-downloaded and it still has the defaul textures for the new stones.

Thanks, it was pretty tricky getting the colors to look faithful and also right next to my not-exactly faithful colored regular stone.

Nope, not yet released. I want to at least get the double tall plants done for the next release.
The textures of the armor set, horse armor set are still default. are they in WIP?
Yep, Lithos is not yet completely finished. Armor is one of the main things left to do.
You can see a full list of what remains to be done in the first post of this thread.
This release adds the new snapshot stone types, and finishes the double-tall plants. Which means Lithos:Core has all the blocks done, except Lava.
In Mod support, it adds Ars Magica 2, Calclavia Core, and ICBM to Universal Ore Color Scheme support. Biomes O Plenty, Thaumcraft, and Tinker's Construct all recive a significant number of new blocks and items.
Changelog: Snapshot Blocks:
Natural and Smooth versions of all three new stones (with random CTM)
Default Blocks:
Peony Bush
Lilac / “Syringa” Bush
Tall Fern
Improved Double-tall Grass
Ars Magica 2
Ores and Blocks: Sunstone, Blue Topaz, Moonstone, Vinteum, Chimerite
New Release v1.7-P
Adding Applied Energistics, Factorization, Nether Ores, and Project Red to the Universal Ore Color Scheme support. Also the Biomes O Plenty planks and trunks are now complete.
Download
(As usual, I'm having trouble uploading to Curse, the front page will be updated once that happens.) Change Log v1.7-P (May 13, 2014) Vanilla:
Adjusted Diamond Tools and gem to Universal Color Scheme
All Buckets
Applied Energistics: (Universal Ore Color Scheme Complete)
I have literally never found a texture pack I liked half as much as this one.
