Looking good, I'd like to see a slightly higher contrast gravel also, its often hard to identify in the inventory next to cobble/stone/other gray blocks.
Yeah, i was thinking the gravel looked bad next to the new stone, and should be redone. I'll try to be aware of how it shrinks down in the inventory if/when i redo it.
I'd prefer something more like what you displayed, but at least for Lithos:Core, i need to stick closer to default.
Now that i have a good stone base, i can start thinking about the ore consistency project i've mentioned before. The idea is:
1) Do the Ores of a bunch of mods in Lithos-Style (since these clash a lot when just exploring a world)
2) Use consistent colors for the ores, ingots and storage blocks of the same material across all supported mods.
Unfortunately mods often make the same ore look very different. For instance Tin might be light grey, medium blue grey, or dark orange, in a very popular mod.
So i'm trying to take into account how an ore commonly appears before picking a color. To determine the most typical color, I'm currently looking at the mods that appear most commonly in very popular mod packs. Currently FTB, Hexxit, and Tekkit, give me
Biome o Plenty,
Factorization,
Forestry,
IndustrialCraft,
Railcraft,
Red Power 2,
Thaumcraft,
Thermal Expansion, and
Tinkers Construct.
> If there are any other ore-adding mods in at least two of these packs, please let me know.
> If there is another mod-pack at least as popular as one of the three above, and you can prove it, please let me know about it.
Sweet. Can't wait to see the ore support for mods. As for other mods, Ars Magica 2 comes to mind. And maybe qCraft. I see those both in a lot of mod packs.
And I know this one isn't as popular and I know I said it before, but Simple Ores 2 support would be great. At least for the ores since it only has copper, tin, mythril, adamantium, and onyx (nether ore). For many I expect that you could copy the texture you made for a different ore and it would fit fine (e.g. uranium from ic2 may pass for adamantium, so you just would need to name it so it worked).
I'd go for just as Base Format for everything. Why make more than one Copper if you don't need too? Any modder worth his or her Salt will use the Forge Ore Dictionary anyway so IC Copper and BC Copper are interchangeable.
How is any of that relevant to making a texture pack?
If mods A, B, & C include copper ore, and i want copper ore to look the same for all Lithos-players, i need to make copper textures for A, B, & C. Those three files will look identical, but they all need to be properly named in the proper place.
The interchangeability of the Ore Dictionary refers to recipes, not graphics.
Some mod-packs may prevent A, & B from generating copper in the world, and leave it to just C, but I'm not going to make assumption about which other mods a player may have.
You are right about Copper, Tin and Silver, but none of the major mods i looked at had Platinum.
This is the bunch of random stuff that i happened to feel like doing update, along with a few long needed additions. Enjoy!
Currently Curse won't let me upload, but this Adfly download will get you the latest. If you don't want to use Adfly, Curse usually comes back online in a day or so.

Curse PremiumAny suggestions how I can label my pack as a "faithful" type pack without making it look like it is Vattic's? And without adding a ton of words?
Thanks!
